I think you waste Mac on Fiddler's line but no matter how we do it, we'll still have Fiddler and Belanger centering two lines so two no offense lines. I'd rather see him try (which of course means he won't):
Doan Turris Mac
Whitney Korpi Stemp
Boeds Hanzal Vrbata
Belanger Fidder Pyatt
If Turris can handle the minutes, I can definitely see that lineup working. If he cannot, we're short a centerman and Korpi may be forced into that role. The lack of trades for forward depth should give him a boost, if nothing else. We're counting on him being in the lineup. I can see Belanger double shifting with Doan/Boedker late in games etc., as has been the case a lot of this season.
Yandle - Morris
Rozi - Klesla (I'm hoping he's the guy who finally takes Sauer's role)
Aucoin - Schlemko/OEL
I like it. I have no complaints with Aucoin's game lately, but Morris has been in over his head. Hopefully he won't have to spend too much time on the PK.
Ebbett should be sent down and Mac brought up. Turris has improved a lot this year and with more confidence shown in him could be a surprise down the stretch.
Look at what Boedker has done since Tip showed confidence in him.
With Uppy gone there is no reason not to bring up Mac and play him.
Agreed, Boedker has done all the work to convince Tipp that he deserves more ice time.
Turris needs to follow his lead and begin to step up his game. If he can, then we are looking good going into the playoffs, if not, then moving Korpi up into the center slot and bringing up MacLean will serve as a better option.
All I want is Whitney / Boedker & Hanzal / Vrbata. Everybody else can play musical chairs.
I would actually prefer Boedker on that line. While I wouldn't call Whitney a liability, his defensive game isn't exactly strong either. Throwing Boedker on that line would make it true shutdown line without losing some of the playmaking that Whitney brought to that line.
Two setup men on the same line, wouldn't you want to spread the love?
That sounds fine, I'm just talking about what I saw. When those 2 guys are on the ice, it seems like you just need to put a big pylon in front of the net to pick up the trash and you've got a hell of a scoring line. Either Hanzal or Pyatt would be good candidates for the crease abuse job.
Lines 1 and 4 have proven to be pretty effective together. Keep it that way. Line 3 is pure speed and line 2 wants to prove that speed doesn't matter. Pyatt and Stemp can both take shifts on line 2 to help ease Mac into the big league.
Put our two new minute munchers together and let them talk all the czech they want.
Turris needs to show something on the ice before he gets an expanded role, not the other way around.
Turris has shown something on occasion just not on a consistent basis. I really wonder about his health. We all acknowledge his body will continue to mature as he grows older but I'd like to know if a few of those "healthy" scratches were really issues with his once wonky back.
Ideally the scratches had nothing to do with his back but I'm one of those people that takes scepticism to a new level.
