It's the right call. Quick looked bad last game, and he tends to be subpar against the Coyotes. The last few times TM has played Bernier against teams that we tend to be unlucky/play bad against (even dating back to last season), we play well and have a better shot at winning.
I'm not a fan of this decision. Quick responds well after bad games. The only other time he was pulled this season (during a 6-4 loss to Phoenix) he followed that up with a 1-0 loss vs. San Jose.
Sandwiched in between those two games was the 7-4 abomination vs. Philadelphia ... where Bernier was pulled.
"The Kings made it through 39 regular-season games, dating to last season, without pulling their starting goaltender from the game. It has now happened twice in the last two games. First, Jonathan Quick was pulled in the second period of Wednesday’s loss to Phoenix, after he allowed six goals on 24 shots. Then, Jonathan Bernier was pulled in the second period of Thursday’s loss to Philadelphia, after he allowed six goals on 22 shots."
It's a division game in March. Quick is a big game goalie. Bernier's a wild card.
Hopefully it's the right move.

... That isn't in question at all. He'll likely start against Vancouver, and I hope he does well.

... Neither do I. The notion of Quick being some sort of "big game goalie" is more than a bit ridiculous and premature, though. He has more NHL games under his belt than Bernier, but let's not pretend he isn't still trying to establish himself as a goalie who's able to last in this league.
Well it's exactly that kind of playoff performance we want to avoid. Getting Bernier some starts helps if indeed Quick was fatigued near the end of last season. I think Quick respons well to competition so having Bernier there to remind him to play well is good.

I was talking to my friend Bob Saccomanno the other day. Bob thinks Quick is the furthest thing from a big game goalie and that he can't handle the pressure.
I contend that he is young and was exhausted last season
Good move by Murray, Quick's play has been pretty subpar the last couple of games. I think it's wise to start Bernier given Quick's recent performances and his track record against PHX.
I think it's the right time for a little bit of "you win - you're in" to give Quick a bit of a rest, and to add just a little tiny bit of extra pressure to come up with a W. There are no back-to-backs this month, so the approach that's been used for the most part this season (Bernier in for the most part only in back-to-back situations) needs to be altered for the time being. You have to give Bernier a few games to keep him sharp, and to avoid what happened late last season with Quick.
Crap were tough on Quick. First goal was soft but there were bad bounces and when the Kings got behind, the play was to wide open vs a powerhouse like Detroit. We played Detroit tempo and your usually going to lose playing that way.
Control and boring Hockey beats Detroit not up tempo. This may be the reason teams play well in Detroit because they play safe whereas you get home and want to put on a show for the home crowd and fall right into Detroit' game.

So long as they win... it's all good. Quick does need the rest sometime this month.
It's the right move to play Bernier. Just hope it doesn't go to a shootout!
If it goes to a shootout, I think Bernier will be more aggressive. He HAS to be. But it's time for Bernier to start again - he needs to work and Quick needs the rest.
Lose one reg game and slip from 5th to 8th ?!?!?! WTH?
Hate to say it, but Thur vs PHX is (almost) a must-win game. (in regulation!)
And Since I"ll be there Sat. vs. VAN, that is definitely a must-win game.
I think the Phoenix game will be as close to a playoff game as you can get, and probably can expect that type of intensity for the rest of the Divisional games. I thought Quick would continue to start given his ability to bounce back, but two games in a row where he looked off. The third period of the avalanche game, he absolutely was off and it carried over into the Red Wings game.
Quick will work in practice and look at the tape with Ranford and Hextall. Get refocused and press the reset button. We'll need both goalies to come through.
