Back to .500 baby! Also read somewhere that the Sixers have winning records in 3 seperate months this season (December, January, and February.) First time a Sixers team has done that since the '00-'01 team, and this year's team still has another month to beat that.

Sixers vs Mavs tonight. Hopefully the team can pull of another win.

Damn it. Sixers lose 101-93. Had a chance in the 4th quarter but couldn't hit a free throw to save their lives. Played a solid game otherwise.

Well, unless they get to that 6th seed, they'll still be a first round fodder IMO. Still, I'm really surprised that the the best player on the team is Holiday.

Sadly, your probably right. Celtics, Heat and even Bulls just have way too much talent and depth. Regardless of how the season ends though, the team has made great strides this year. Just wish more people in Philly noticed them and maybe, you know, actually showed up for the games. I hate seeing the Center half-empty for them.

The 6th and 5th seeds are definitely in play. Have to win the next game and get the ball rolling again. Anyway anyone have any topics to blog on? I try and contribute to this blog with some friends but I suck at it. So if anything interests anyone say it now. I was thinking about doing some stuff about basketball analytics but I am not sure.

It could just be my imagination, but I think it's looked like more people have been coming to the games as the seasons gone on. People seem to be noticing that they've improved even though they still lag behind the other teams in the city as far as buzz goes.

I don't think they have a realistic shot at the 5th seed. 22 games left and we'll have to make up 6.5 on Atlanta. Even if Atlanta sputters some down the stretch I don't see us getting that far over .500.

Sadly they have no chance of winning in the 1st round regardless of who they play. I don't think we could beat Miami, Boston, Chicago, Orlando, or even the NY Knicks.

Can definitely beat the knicks.

I think they would give the first 3 some competition but I find Orlando vulnerable.

I'm pretty sure Dwight Howard would eat us alive. We might be able to pull out a win or two against them but not the series.

Thats the key to beating the Magic. Let Howard go off. Use your fouls. But dont double team and guard the 3-pt shot. Thats how they beat the heat the other night. If you let them establish their 3-pt shot you are more screwed than if Dwight goes off. Incidentally that is how the sixers took 2 games from them before and I think this sixers team is better and this magic team is worse.

Sixers beat Golden State 125-117 in OT. Really exciting game, much more so than the other Philly team that played earlier today..

2 games over .500 for the first time since April 2009.

Evan Turner had such an exciting game. And Iguodala with another triple double. Man that was a great game.

I'm also really starting to wonder how realistic that 6th seed is for this team. Knicks clearly have the edge as they grabbed 'Melo and Chauncey, but they don't play defense as well as the Sixers. I can see both teams in the groove of beating the teams they should without any real slumps for the rest of the season, so it might come down to the last few games.

Still, it is a ways off but if they could find a way to grab the 6th seed come season end it would no doubt be interesting if the Heat come to town. This team has become pretty much a must-watch, as long as their game isn't opposite the Flyers. Then again if the Flyers put forth an effort tomorrow in the same vein as the previous game (or any of the last 4 really) the Sixers might win out anyway.

Turner really needs a few games like that to build confidence and show he deserves playing time.

I think he's been getting more comfortable and showing more confidence and aggressiveness lately. It really came out in the GS game, where not only did he have really good numbers but some of his buckets were pretty impressive. I try not to get too excited because GS is horrible defensively, but it seems like part of a trend where he's becoming more noticeable on the floor.

He's had good stretches. I would like to see him take more of Meeks minutes next year. But for now 25 minutes or so is probably about right for him till he works on his shot in the offseason.

The only way Turner will get minutes is if he drives more. Collins said in an interview that Turner's mechanics are all messed up for his jump shot. In the offseason Turner is scheduled to meet with Philly University head coach Herb Magee (who is known as one of the best coaches at teaching and fixing players form) to fix his jump shot.

Sixers win again 110-100 in Indiana, now 6 games ahead of the Pacers who are in 8th place in the East.

I'd be shocked if they finished lower than 7th. Not just because of last night, but there's clearly a talent gap between them and everyone below them. Catching NY will be tough but it's doable. They need to get a couple wins against some good teams coming up the rest of the month: Thunder, Celtics, Hawks, Blazers, Heat and Bulls.
