The Kings don't really have anyone on their roster that they consider expendable out side of our 7th defenseman, 13th forward.

Put Williams' new contract up on the board.

I know Schenn is a great prospect and all but that cap hit is devastating for a guy who has done nothing.

It does have a lot of negatives, but it has one useful positive in that it reserves cash for his next contract in the future. If we signed Doughty to a $5 million contract, we are only adding around $1.5M to the books because we already have near $3.5M already reserved for him.

Are people now complaining that Cap Space might not have a roster spot next season?

He could be bought out if Richards becomes available.

Is Oscar Moller still waiver exempt next year, or is this his last year of exemption?

Last year. Not good for him that's for sure. Burning that first year of his contract rather than returning him to junior has hurt him in that regard.

FYI, the cap is rumored to be set at or in between $62.2M to $62.4M next season, an increase of about $3M in cap space.

I don't think he matters. With Handzus and Poni being UFA at the end of the season that's 7 Million opening up. you could sign Richards and still sign the kids to a long-term contracts the year after when Penner and Smyth come off the listings. We have the room but the issue with Richards is that he's the only good UFA on the market. He's going to get some gigantic stupidly long contract from someone who's desperate. Leafs et al.

2011/2012 Major Update

Here we go! Made the adjustments for next season and they are:

*Updated all player ages*
*Updated contract lengths for 2011/12 season*
*Updated cap hits for 2011/12 season*
*Updated our dollar figures, payroll, and cap space*
*Updated draft picks noting selection positions this year, and also correcting next year's number of draft picks*

The only thing I am unsure about is Kozun, Nolan, Voynov, and Kolomatis' contract lengths. I subtracted a year for each, and will just wait until capgeek updates their site for next year to confirm.

Enjoy!

P.S. With the end of this year, we officially no long have a buy-out on record! Hallelujah!!!

Not that it's a big deal but wasn't Jordan Nolan listed as center last year on the narchs site? I remember thinking that I would like to have him as the future 4th line center for the kings. The narchs site has him as a RW and you have him as a LW. Like I said, it's not a big deal. It just happen to catch my eye.

Looks like you're right, the Kings website lists him as a center, so I changed it.

Call me crazy, but I don't think we gave away our 3rd round pick in 2012 just yet. I think we have ours and Toronto's.

We lost our third in the Penner trade. It was a conditional pick in 2012 which was either our 2nd or our 3rd round selection and because got bounced in the first round, it became a 3rd.

Ouch! We should have stopped paying for him the moment we exited the playoffs. Oh well......
