Has there ever been a NHL playoff overtime game decided by a penalty shot?

NHL Official Guide & Record Book has listing of penalty shots but I think there's no game that has been decided by a penalty shot. There has been penalty shots but no goals.

I can remember Caps and Pens having one in their multiple-OT game in mid 1990s.

If I remember correctly, both Juneau and Morozov had penalty shots in OT but failed to score. For the record I think Pronger is the only one to score one in the finals. Other than that, no, I don't think any playoff game has been decided by a penalty shot in OT.

Sundin had a let PS goal in a playoff game against Hasek, if my memory serves me well. I don't think it was OT though.

Pronger got a PS in the Stanley Cup final, and scored. Oilers still lost the game though I believe.

the only one in OT was the Caps/Pens one in 1996.

speaking of which, have you ever seen something so bizarre in the crowd at a hockey game?

Pens just scored to end one of the longest games in NHL history, and this one fan is just standing there. But when he sees the camera panning towards him, he starts cheering. Watch at 1:15

Does everyone ignore my post? As I said, Juneau and Morozov are the only ones taking penalty shots in OT. Both missed with Morozov actually beating Moog but hit the post. Montreal won the game.

I know the ref didn't want to call that penalty in overtime in the Pens/Caps 1996 game but the net was purposely dislodged and there was little choice for him.

Juneau's penalty shot had to have been the worst effort I have ever seen on a penalty shot. He labelled it right into Wregget's pads. I know he was probably (I think) going for the five hole but maybe if he had done something worthwhile the Caps would have been up 3-1 in that series.

Yeah, but you know what happens when the caps go up 3-1 on the Penguins...
