That's what I assumed, but I didn't want to be the one to say it.

thats correct in the sense that we cant buy out spacek and save on the cap but we can buy out spacek and save real world money, therefore the team just needs to trade him to another team (ie. a cap floor team) for their buyout players (who are not on 35+ contracts) and then proceed with the buyout, that team either saves some money in the process (ie. we take on salaries greater then spaceks, ie. JP dumont who makes a bit more) or they take on the added cap hit which helps them out in reaching the cap floor (and saves them more money in the long run).

Ehrhoff and (especially) Leino are two guys I would be wary of signing. Both players have put up ncie offensive numbers but they're starting in the offensive zone a lot, inflating their stats.. Leino's also facing easier opposition than any current Hab not named Desharnais. I think there might be better options available out there.

If Vancouver inexplicably doesn't sign him, Raffi Torres would be a nice guy to sign for minutes alongside Eller. Dvorak wouldn't be bad in that role either. I'm pretty happy with the Habs' top-6 given Pacioretty's emergence, so getting a group of D together and then adding some quality depth on the wings would be my priority.

No way richards comes here. He had places like Carolina in his top 5. He doesn't want to be in the limelight.

If we have 4-5 mil to spend on a UFA winger...with rank and cost...assuming they are all UFA's

1-Laich(4.5-4.75 over 4-5 years)
6-Upshall(2.75-3 mil over 2-3 years)
7-Arnott(3-3.5 mil for 1-2 years)
9-Frolov(2-2.5 over 1-2 years)
10-Gagne(3.75-4 mil over 1-2 years)
8-Sturm(2-2.5 mil over 1-2 years)
2-Langenbrunner(2.5-3 mil over 1-2 years)
4-Fleischmann(3-3.25 over 2-3 years)
3-Kopecky(2.5-3 mil over 3 years)
5-Leino(3.5-3.75 over 3-4 years)

If Gauthier wanted Jovanovski. Maybe he'll sign him this off season.

Pitkanen and Laich, only after our own important ones, and ship Gomez elsewhere, anywhere...

Okay this is what our line-up will look without any major changes. And if Andrei wants a bigger salary then he can walk for all I care and then I'd sign Jokinen for less.
