Who do we root for today

Time to bring this back up.

March 1 games (all games rooting for regulation):

Preds
Blues
Coyotes
Avalanche
Canucks

all breaks right we can be in a tie for 5th in points (but 7th due to tiebreaks) with Calgary trailing us by a point, Dallas 2 points, Columbus by 6.

I have to agree. We really need some of these hot teams to cool off, and the Preds need to light a fire under it. Columbus and Chicago had pretty mediocre starts to the season, and now they're both on tears. LA was out of it, but playing well. Nashville is playing like crap, and let those guys back in. It's sad really. I don't think I can handle another year of the freakin' Jackets being in the play offs while we're sitting around doing nothing.

Oh and I hate when these threads are necessary...

If it breaks apart and systematically eliminates other Western Conference teams then no. No it doesn't.

In a warped way, that one was a good one to lose. Realistically, we have to get to 95 points to have a 'good' shot. So, sure, we need to pick up 22 points more. But, if we're not taking 2 better to give those to EDM, StL, COL, VAN, DET, or an East team, right? We aren't gonna' win them all, so I'm in favor of beating the CA teams, and MN, and CLG, and PHX, and CBus.

Glass half full, or pollyana?

OK, today, Wed the 2nd, we're rooting for:

DET over ANA
NYI over MIN
and CLG over CHI, I think.

I concur with this. isles already did us a favor, and as long as calgary-chicago ends in regulation, we win. (although i want chicago to win and us to send calgary on a tailspin

Wow, Isles did us a HUGE favor and knocked off the Wild, keeping them behind us.

Now, if only we can somehow capitalize and win an unlikely game in Vancouver tomorrow night...

Shades of Leggy.....thanks alot giving up an o.t. penalty shot win, dead things. Ellis smells the playoffs with his 2nd win in goal as a duckie.

Only got help from 2, moved up to 7th spot. But we won and that matters more.

Friday's games:
Carolina @ Chicago
Columbus @ Calgary
Dallas @ Anaheim

Go Carolina.

I don't know if it would be better for Calgary to win and keep Columbus down, start getting more distance between them. Or for Columbus to win to keep Calgary below us, all the while knowing we have to play Calgary next and do we want to play a hot team that's mad from a loss and we haven't beaten yet. But I guess go Columbus.

Just someone win in regulation. Either team will pass us with a win. Anaheim will tie us but will have more wins and go ahead. Dallas will pass us outright. I guess go Anaheim, at least we will still be tied.

The rule is that it's always better for the team closest to you\above you to lose, so we're CBJ fans tonight, IMO.

BJs and Hurricanes and Ducks (altho that game is virtually a wash for us statistically).

I would say Columbus, Canes, and Ducks as well. I want the teams directly ahead or behind us to do well. Calgary took a tough loss to the hawks, and losses to CBJ and us could have them in free fall since they have played more games. And stars-anaheim, I root for regulation. With the ducks, do you think they can win down the stretch with ellis in net? if so, root stars. With the stars, can Lehtonen keep it up>? If yes, root ducks

Well Carolina pretty much gave the game away from the beginning.

Calgary wins in regulation.

Dallas up 3-1 at the end of the 2nd period.

Looks like we'll be in 9th place in the morning.

and Anaheim wins in OT....on a PPG.

Looks like we fall to 10th.

Both Anaheim and Dallas are tied with us but both have more wins and Dallas has a game in hand.

Saturday games:
Vancouver @ LA
Chicago @ Toronto
Detroit @ Phoenix
Dallas @ San Jose

They play also, but won't impact the standings.
St. Louis @ NYIslanders
Edmonton @ Colorado

It's so gross to say, but go Vancouver, Toronto, Detroit, San Jose.

Please please please decide the games in regulation.
