Oh so you're saying the Rangers need to score and put the opponent down for the count? Oh I agree totally.

Oh yeah top 5 is quite the accomplishment, PK stumbled a bit this past week though

For everyone worried about MDZ, although it's not as bad, Erik Karlsson is an absolute disaster of a defenseman right now. He makes Del Zotto look like a defensive stalwart.

So whats the consensus? How many games do they have to win to make the playoffs?

Toy story is the one thing that can be picked over a Rangers game to watch.
I realize that, and obviously he plays against other teams 3rd and 4th lines, but he also doesn't play with our teams top lines much, so it evens out.

It just seems like you hate on people, or love people, because it is the cool thing to do on HFBoards. Gilroy had a good game tonight, as did most of the team.

Great game. Pretty much everyone played well. Dubinsky and Stepan stood out to me.

I think 90 will be a good number. Thinking it will be from 88-92.

Yeah, that's true. But if MDZ was leading this team in points I think people would cut him some slack if he screwed up sometimes...

MDZ 47g-2-9-11
EK 62g-9-26-35

Equal "good" in their own end...I'd take EK over MDZ every day in the week!

It's brutal that we have to play Philly immediately after having a good game. Pretty much guaranteed to put an end to any momentum coming out of this game. Hopefully Gabbo is back for Sunday, even if just to free up some space for other guys by commanding the Flyers' top D men against him.

He got in some of the guys' faces and threw his body around. Nothing serious.

Oh, it gets heavy rotation in my household. Every night, at least once.

If it wasnt such a great movie I'd be cutting my wrists.

Besides, I needed a night off from Micheletti. He's the most unholy human on this planet, and I would love to send him on a three week cruise around the Somali coast on a skiff with a pencil for an oar.

POTG: Stepan for me. Zuccs too I guess.

The Good: team played a more controlled game. 27 shots on net, which is more like it. Those high shot totals like 41 usually just mean they are taking a huge number of dumb shots.

The Redden: nobody deserved such a lowly award tonight.

What lines had a good night? Nice for Zucc to finally bury it!

What do you guys think of the suspension of Trevor Gillies? Is that hit really 10-game-suspension-bad? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS624Du7OvQ

A good win but still not satisfying to me personally. Especially against a pretty bad Ottawa team. There weren't parts where we controlled the play. It was more of breakdowns and executions. I miss the game they played in the beginning of the season....where we controlled play for a good duration. Where did that go.

Didn't get to catch the game since I'm up in Albany but was following on NHL.com on my phone. Is it safe to say that they played a complete game tonight? Hopefully it carries over to Sunday though a game against the Flyers at home on NBC isn't promising.

Just got home from work. Thank god we won, now if we could only get to OT vs the Flyers. Not gonna get ahead of myself and hope for a win, so I'll take 1 point please.

POTG's: W2-Step-Zucc line
Good: Pack line, almost everyone else.
bad:none
Redden:Lundqvist-In the 1st period he tried to make a glove save
and bobbled it off his glove and it landed near the crease; then at the other end Anderson made a clean glove save, therefore outplaying Hank during this time. He also gave up a goal.

By itself? No, absolutely not. If Erik Christensen does that Sunday he gets a game or two, maybe.

It was his first game back from a big suspension, though, and the league does have reason to believe his modus operandi out there is just hurting people. Don't disagree too much with the wheel of justice on this one.

Never thought the kid would score as many goals as he has. I though 20 annually in his prime would be lucky to get, but he's shown a great nose for the net, and silky smooth hands. Stepan is going to be an absolute force in 2-3 years, if he doesn't become one by the middle of next season. He's basically our only hope for a PPG player in the system.

big win...this win puts us back in 7th place (thanks to blackhawks beating carolina tonight)...however, we cannot slow down, we need to keep winning...since now buffalo has 4 games at hand on us and carolina holds 1 game at hand on us....

this was a must win game mainly for our confidence and to stay in the playoffs...

now we need to build on it!!! BRING ON PHILLY!!!
