why not bench connolly?

it could wake him up
it gives his banged up body some rest
we are no worse off with adam or byron in there

maybe even for 2 games? give him a 5 day rest? Everyone else out there is putting the effort in.

I thought Connolly was pretty good tonight...why would you bench him?

Yea, I agree with that. He was good, at least defensively.

Mine is short but sweet:

G:
A win none of us expected

B:
Special teams (namely the 5-3 and the shorty against)

U:
MSG
A donkey's rear end ()

4-0-2 in last 6, 10 out of 12 points after our 3 game losing streak.

thats solid.

and our 2 loses very very easily could have been wins.

haha, I was thinking the same thing. I heard them booing him and my first reaction was to be impressed that they think that highly of him already.

It also helps that he's so friggin tall. Makes him easy to spot and be a beacon for hatred lmao.

I start watching with 5 minutes left in the 1st and didn't saw anything wrong either, he didn't scored but was good on others parts of the game, it's probably the hating mode on him as usual !!!

I think you can say that a lot of the power play's failures can be put on the shoulders of Tim Connolly.

The powerplay sucks overall, he can get some blame but almost everyones can.

I didn't saw the game until it was 2-0 , can't really comment on that one, 3rd goal was on a Vanek turnover at the blue line and on Lindy putting 2 forwards and didn't put Connolly or Poms on the back , at least one of them used to play the point so probably Timmonen won't ended all alone. Almost every goals are a direct error from one or 2 players but Timmah's one are point out more often.

As i said he deserved to be boo the 1st part of the year but i don't think he played bad lately without any favoritism, offensive numbers are not great but at least he is doing good on others things.

Vanek's mistake was pointed out more than Connolly's in the GDT, actually. But Vanek made the play on the eventual game winning goal, and had a nice assist to Stafford to open Buffalo's scoring, so he actually made up for it.

Unlike Connolly, whose mistakes constantly end up in the Buffalo net, and is creating absolutely nothing on a regular basis at even strength. His +/- is worst on the team for a reason, and it's not because the statistician hates him.

Sorry i didn't read all the GDT comments, just the last pages to see if i was alone loosing the last minute with woman basketball. I didn't want to blame Vanek on the goal, just to prove my point that every goals have at least 1 guilty player to put blame on him. Vanek offensive have nothing to compare with Timmy, we won't argue on that we are on the same side but with Connolly could ended up with 2 assists easily when he put Ennis and Stafford on breakaway and an half one for Stafford and the +- of Vanek is far from good either.

Anyway, we won and i hope to see another one tomorrow to finally being on the real top 8, not the virtual one

Yup. As badly as ShaMo played that, it was his turnover that started it all.

I'd take it as a compliment if I were a player. You don't get boo'd like that if you aren't a great player.

Personally I would blame the two forwards who completely ignored Timmonen, Boyes and Ennis I think, more than Vanek for that third goal.

If anybody told you before the game that Sabres would be down 2-0 early, blow PP chances on a 5-on-3 and a 4-on-3, lose a 3-2 lead with a shorthanded goal and have Miller take a late stupid penalty against the East leading Flyers, would you have believed they could win?
