No, because it was over 97% likely we weren't getting him, and he didn't end up with a team I hate. Although 3 of those teams still got top-10 picks, while we stayed in the 20s...even Philly picked ahead of us!
Im kinda glad hes in Pittsburgh, and im no Pens fan. Its just good to know that the best prospect in 20 years is going to be tutored and mentored by the best player in the last 20 years. Its a good fit and I wish him, and Pens well... that is, until they meet the Leafs. But seriously: Im just glad the Sens didnt get him **GAG REFLEX**
I didn't get my hopes up much about Crosby. Yeah, it would have been nice, but I was glad to see him go to a team that is in bankruptcy protection anyways. However, I was quite irritated that we did not land in the first 15, but that's what happens when you only have 1 lottery ball
I'm disappointed we're not drafting higher, but I'm certainly not mad about not getting Crosby... I knew it was an extremely small chance that would happen.
I don't mind his being in Pittsburgh, if he had to come somewhere I'm glad it's Pittsburgh.
I'd have enjoyed seeing him in Chigaco... their fans have been jerked around so badly by Wirtz for so long they need something to cheer about. Depressing how he's systematically been destroying what was once one of the strongest and most devoted fanbases in the NHL.
Remove Wirtz from Chicago and I've no doubt they'd routinely sellout again.
Do you really think that the number 2 pick, who will be either Johnson or Pouilitte, is really worth both Kaberle, McCabe and the 21st pick? I mean wow, you must really think highly of either Johnson or Pouilitte...
I was thinking that trading one of the d-men and the 21st pick would make some sense as it would allow us to dump some salary to help us sign a free agent while at the same time possbly providing us with a means to replace the player in the end. Nothing is certain as far as the draft goes, you never know if the player is going to be a star or a bust. The pick may or may not pan out. Both Kaberle and McCabe are proven.
Giving both away...that just does not make any sense to me. What happens if we trade away Kaberle and McCabe only to find that we fail in our attempts to sign a premier defenseman to replace them? Too risky if you ask me.
I save my mads for things that were done consciously and maliciously.
Besides, I've been a Leaf fan long enough not to anticipate any piece of luck.

How could you be mad about it? We had like a 98% chance of not getting the first pick. So, you should have assumed going into it we most likely would not get it. So we should really not be "mad" about it.
