fedotenko is the charlie sheen of the rangers LOL...he gets hurt and we are beyond awful. 1 regulation win in like 18 games. he returns, we win 2 in a row, he gets hurt again we lose. he's back and 2 more wins...feds = #winning
POTG- Cally and his Lemieux playing ability. Almost had 5
The Good-Everything....even Gilroy
The Bad-Flyers Goaltending
The Redden- I would sacrifice 6 of these goals and put them in all of our 1 goal losses.
The Good: Everyone, in particular the Pack line, Zucc,DSteps, WW.., Hank's 9th shutout.
The Bad: Hungover, not leaving my bed until NOW,lazily streaming the game to my comp.
The Zherdev: Zherdev, responsible for a few of our goals and got burned on some plays to create 2 on 1s. Boosh...once again, not leaving my bed until 3 pm with a midterm to study for tmmrw.
Btw with Cally potting his 20th, here's an update on current/potential 20 goal scorers this season:
= SIX potential 20 goal scorers on this team, compared to 3 last year...woo!
The Good: Power Play clicking, Gaborik was flying out there, STEADY LINE COMBOS!!!!
The Bad: Stepan missing another wide open net
The Redden: The Rangers are 5th in goal differential in the league... yet clawing, scratching, and fighting for a PLAYOFF spot. You would think that we would be fighting for a DIVISION.
When they play well and the offense clicks they have had some dominant games. Washington twice, Toronto, now Philly. I love where things are headed with this team and I CAN'T WAIT to add Brad Richards in the offseason.
POTG is easily Cally. 4+1 speaks for itself. Lundqvist close 2nd, a shutout is a shutout and he faced a couple of difficult shots. The shutout is there because his team gave him the opportunity to play his game though.
Hopefully Zuke will get into another gear after this game and that the Pack line will start flying again. Who needs Gabo?
I think it's pretty clear the POTG and the Good. But like Tom Laidlaw, you gotta like Boyle standing up to Shelley. He sent a message saying the Rangers weren't going to take it. Props to BB.
I also thought Feds played well.
we've scored 6+ goals 8 times this year and yet we struggle to score in so many games.
It's why I don't buy that we lack the talent to consistently score goals. It's harder for us, as guys like Cally, Dubinsky, Boyle etc aren't pure scorers, but they absolutely have it in them. They're certainly capable of hitting open nets, at least. I think everyone grips the sticks too tightly on this team, particularly at home.
POTG: Ryan Callahan, but Henrik had another good game, and Dubinsky seemed to just control the puck every shift.
The Good: Another blowout victory.
The Bad: Nothing
The Redden: This is about the fourth or fifth game this year where they've just run someone out of the rink. Why can't they do this consistently? Yeah, I know Philly played awful hockey, but still....
Its something called experience. Lot of young guys on the team that when the team is struggling they start to try and get too perfect with the shots and the passing. Once this team gets going and has confidence scoring isn't such a problem. Its those tight games when we hit the post early and start to think too much that we get in trouble. Others have stated that inexperience isn't an issue with this team -- I totally disagree!!!
