I remember in 07-08 wondering which one of Sekera and Weber would pan out.

Web seems to get up for those games as it is. Given how physical the Pens have become, they're going to need it.

Given the injury situation (Kaleta, Ennis?) I wouldn't be surprised if Ruff dresses 7 defensemen against the Penguins.

Agree with most posters, even though he frustrates the heck out of me Connelly played well tonight. So did Vanek. Myers is a beast and it's a pleasure to watch him begin to control the game on his shifts. Reminds me of a young Ray Bourque.

Bottom line guys, having an owner who cares and isn't afraid to wear his team on his shirtsleeve has fired up this organization like nothing else has in years. It's amazing what has happened to the motivation of the guys on the ice...... it's like what do you know, the guy in charge, actually cares about us and the game!!

Enroth has as many wins (4) in his 7 games this season, then Lalime does in his last 2 season or 21 games played.

Another Good:
Winning both games of a back to back. We've only done that once this season before (in November against Columbus and Ottawa), and I don't know this for a fact, but just glancing at our schedule, I think it would be safe to say that our team has had the most back-to-backs in the league so far.

Props to Chain for first suggesting pairing Sekera with a more stay-at-home partner to allow him more freedom to roam offensively. Prescient call which has exceeded all of our wildest expectations.

I truly believe that Tyler Myers is a top 5 talent in the league to have in overtime. His ability to just gallop through the zones and rip a huge slapshot is just such a good thing to have in overtime.

The 4 on 4 factor raises the playing ability of Myers so much, it is almost as if we could just put him out with whoever and he can just dominate.

I'm know that Staff scored, but the first 30 seconds of overtime was all Myers.

I was trying to be sarcastic. Lots of people around here complain about how much Connolly sucks, but lately they haven't had much of a reason for it (other than him not scoring much at even strength). Notice how I gave a reason for everything else being good/bad, besides Connolly?

I'm not saying he had a great game or anything, but he didn't have a bad one either. And he hasn't had a bad game in a while IMO.

A little more offense from him would be nice though.

Stafford and Myers have both excelled in clutch situations this season. Those are the kind of players you need to hang onto.

Add to the good: Harry's audible chuckle on the Poms goal.

It looks like Myers skating is back to form. Not saying he lost it but he was just gliding around players tonight. It was a sight to behold.

Montador and Sekera have been unreal and a HUGE part of this teams streak since Terry took over. Big props.

If you take away the 3-9-2 start, the Sabres are 29-16-6 since. That's a pretty impressive run for an extended period of time. That's .627 hockey for over half a season, which is a 103-point pace.
I wouldn't have believed it. I was at that game in Toronto when Miller was injured, Enroth was called up, and Sabres tied it in the dying seconds.
It looked like Ruff was close to being fired before his 1,000th game.
Ruff/Regier said they believed in this team. I'm not sure I did until lately.
Tonight's game was impressive in just about every way. Great back up goalie and dominance in a third period playing back to back and third in four nights.

I'm lazy - what do the numbers look like if you take away the most recent 14 games?

I don't know why that would be significant, the most recent games are the most important indicators, while the games at the beginning of the season are less and less so as time passes.

21-13-3 which is 45 points in 37 games. 100 point pace.

I'm all for Weber playing but not in favor of Morrison. I would rather see Weber over Butler, even though Butler has played better and more confident lately. Morrison has been physical lately and played steady d.
