Strike Niedermayer off the list...

Doesn't take much to see that Nieds will accept a lower salary out west and will expect "full value" (7.8) from the Leafs....

His agent said yesterday that he will give the Leafs serious consideration if they are willing to pay him the maximum amount of $7.8 million (all figures U.S.).

"He's definitely interested in playing out west," said Niedermayer's Vancouver-based agent Kevin Epp. "It has to make sense, though."

Epp said there are teams that Niedermayer would play on for a "discounted rate." He stopped short of naming them.

Niedermayer said family considerations would be important when choosing his final destination. He did not want to discuss specific teams, but admitted Vancouver is attractive because he and his wife are both from Western Canada.

never thought it was a possibility anyway, so no need to scratch.

Depends on if the Canucks re-sign Naslund which if he does may not leave enough money for Niedermayer.

I think Neidermyre is going to Vancouver and Naslund is going in a package with Forsberg, likely to Toronto Naslund - Sundin - Forsberg. I thik we forget Neidermyre and go for Gonchar and Foote.

The latest Niedermayer rumour making the rounds has Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla putting the hard sell on the Devils blueliner to play in Calgary, reports the Vancouver Province.
Niedermayer has made it known he would like to play closer to his Cranbrook home and Calgary as well as Vancouver would fit that bill. Also, through his agent Kevin Epp, he has made it known that there are a few teams he would be willing to play for at a discounted rate, but Epp would not divulge which teams those are

This is the way I see it. Forget Neidermyre because we get get two acceptional deffencemen for the same price or maybee Pronger.

Option A) Neidermyre = 6 to 7.8 million
Option B) Gonchar + Foote = 6 to 8 Million
Option C) Pronger = 7.8 Million
Option D) Leetch + Foote = 6 to 8 Million
Option E) Neidermyre + Pronger = 14+ Million damb cap

That would be alright IMO. Chalking up both decent offensive and defensive defensemen. I still would like to see Neidermeyer in a Leafs jersey however. Wow, it's been a while since I posted here......
