No, none that I know of.

Ekholm has also won the rookie of the month honors twice in the SEL this season. A real breakout year for the big, mobile two-way defenseman from Sweden. Could eventually provide a nice balance to one of the pairings with all our smaller offensive prospects...

Hmmmmm...

Milwaukee could look like this:

Ellis-Josi
COR-Ekholm
Foss (if he comes out. He sounds impressive in NY)

Haha, no I don't think so

Hopefully Ekholm can continue to play this good, would be really nice to see him play in the World Championship.

Goalkeeper Stefan Liv, Sweden
Defenceman Magnus Johansson, Sweden
Defenceman Mattias Ekholm, Sweden
Forward Dick Axelsson, Sweden
Forward Jonas Andersson, Sweden
Forward Maxim Rybin, Russia

Earlier this season in November he was named the best d-man in Karjala Tournament by the directorate.

THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORATE NAMED THE BEST PLAYERS IN KARJALA TOURNAMENT 2010
Best goalkeeper: Vasiliy Koshechkin, Russia
Best defenceman: Mattias Ekholm, Sweden
Best forward: Petri Kontiola, Finland

Participating teams in those tournaments are Sweden, Finland, Russia and Czech Republic.

He's having a pretty good season..
Jani Lajunen played his first mens national team games for finland. He was one of the better players on that team. He has performed very well in FEL this season. He is first line center for his team. Hes very good 2-way player. Can create offensive chances, strong with puck and hes fast. I see that he could be 3rd-4th line center with 30-40 points with good defensive play someday in NHL.

I noticed the HF article on best drafted OHL defensemen picked Ellis as number one.

I guess he's grown a lot or else they measure him in his skates. The article claims he's 5' 11" ...

Goal Gopher Blog had a snippet on Budish in a post about their game with Wisconsin. Quoting the full Budish section here.
Quote:
BUDISH ON PACE - Sophomore forward Zach Budish, who had season-ending knee surgery after seven games, is doing well.

"He will probably start skating in another month," Lucia said. "The surgery went well and his rehabilitation is right on schedule. He should be back and 100 percent next fall.

"[Doctors] have pretty much perfected those [knee] surgeries and he came back fine from the last one," Lucia said, referring to Budish's surgery on his other knee as a high school senior at Edina. "The hard part is he has missed two out of three years of hockey. So it will take a while [for him] to catch up again, but there is no question he will."

Cehlin hasn't scored a goal in 16 games (actually probably more than that, but he has played 16 games since I last updated the stats).
Fun Fact: Watson's -35 is the fourth-worst figure in the OHL. Only Steven Strong of Belleville (-36 in 54 games) and John Padulo (-45 in 57 games) & Steven Beyers (-48 in 60 games) of Barrie are worse. Also worth noting is that Strong is a defenseman.

Interesting fun fact.

I prefer the fun fact that Watson has 12 goals in the last 12 games. A goal or more in 10 of those 12 games. He is worst on their team in plus-minus, but their top scorer (Watson is within three goals, after a slow start) Peumpel is -33, Quine is -33, and four others are -28 or worse. I am glad to see him scoring goals.

Big thanks for the chart. I like that. Good to see all their numbers.

Atte Engren's GAA and SV% are pretty impressive given his record. He must play for a pretty bad team.

HF gives a shout-out to Blum getting the call-up in On the Rush. Pretty good article about how he got the chance when we traded away "Andrew Sulzer" . Other than that, not bad.

Sad thing is, our offense (2.55 GPG) isn't that much better than theirs (2.45 GPG).

Just a little additional statistical information about David Elsner:

In January he appeared in 3 games for Ingolstadt in the DEL.

He had 1 goal, no assists or penalty minutes, he was +1 and had 8 shots.

obviously ellis is just ridiculous, but that 2009 3rd round looks quite impressive right now. I think the beck pick is what we gave you guys so that we could steal karlsson from burke and the ducks. Win-win there IMO.

Hockey future ranks Mattias Ekholm as the 17th best prospect for nashville. You guys must really have a deep pool. Ekholms 33 points is the second best result alltimes by a 20-year old defenseman in SEL, only Rundblad is better with his 50 this season. As a comparison Nicklas Lidström put up 23 points in SEL when he was 20.

If Ekholm is a 6,5 C , Hockey´s future must think that the level of SEL and swedish prospects overall is really crappy.
