Fights are for meatheads. Fights are a foul, fighting results in a penalty. It's like if I said: "Spearing is a part of hockey."
Go watch pro wrestling...
You go watch curling instead. Fights have been part of the game for as long as the game itself. Fighting helps protecting the players from what is the most dangerous sport on earth, it can shift momentum during the game and it's still one of the most entertaining aspects about hockey, proof being the whole bulding standing up and cheering when a fight starts. You're just part of the clan that has downgraded it's worth because it's easier to do that then to admit that we're not tough enough, period.
If we had somebody that would of taken on Thornton and the beginning of last game and had a good battle, that whole show or whatever you guys want to call it would of never happenend because after a fight like that teams concentrate on the game after.
White still has a decent amount of speed to play our game of speed.
Exactly, thats exactly why white is playing tomorrow, im surprised you dont think so
he's still fast enough, and brings way more physicality then pyatt
why everyone thinks with white in the line up all hell do or want to do is fight or start a fight, but no, whites a kid but hes not stupid, hes not gonna run after anyone, hes just gonna play HIS game, which involves forecheck and hitting, IF a fight happens, yeah maybe he could be involved, but he'd play firstly just because he can play gritty vs gritty bruins players
Id be pretty upset to see pyatt out there tomorrow, they CALLED ryan up 1 day after that 8-6 game, i cant IMAGINE they dont play him vs the bruins, it makes no sense to me why they wouldnt.
The Bruins boards have the fight pics everywhere on their GDT. As much as Laraque never fought or played, the Bruins never tried that with him in the line up. One would have liked to see him at the end of the bench tomorrow for this game.
Our top 6 has average size but we get a much bigger bottom 6. A guy like Rupp can match up against the Thorthon's/Lucic's of the league while still putting up 20-25 points
I belive there is a thread for this called the Toughness thread. Can we not ruin this GDT.
Fighting between 2 willing combatants is STILL a part of hockey. What should not be a part of hockey is instigating an altercation and turtling when you should man up and drop the gloves. Without fighting the NHL would turn into a league filled with cheap shot artists pulling their shenanigans with no fear of retribution. Fighting keeps players honest. What isn't honest is diving trying to draw penalties...that's soccer.
There are plenty of punch-drunk pugilists out there who will fight for a sandwich. I don't see the smarts in paying millions to a hockey player only to lose him to injury because some louts think he should be bare-knuckle boxing on a sheet of ice. That's not hockey. Time for evolution, unfortunately hockey is largely sold in American markets on the basis of the fighting.
I notice in advance of the game vs the Broons, here on the Habs board we have this eight-page thread on the game, and there is some talk of fighting in it. Meanwhile on the Broons board they have an eight-page thread on fighting, and there is some talk of hockey in it.

So the Bruin fans will be double crushed if there are no fights and the Habs win.
I'd be tempted to play the exact same line-up as Saturday night, which I think was basically the same line-up as last game in Boston, only except we'd have Cammalleri and Sopel in for Darche and Spacek.
The only changes to consider are White and Mara. Absolutely no call ups.
I could see Martin putting in those two guys but I could also see him making no changes. That's just how he rolls.
How bout we just play like we did in the first period of the Tampa game?
-Oh and there were certain individuals on our team who embarrassed themselves last game in Boston, and I'm not talking about fighting. They know who they are, and they had better ****in bring it tomorrow night.
Awesome avatar man! Jaco is the shiznit, but you already know that. BTW, I agree 100% with everything you said. Bassists know their stuff.
Why are some of you guys so damn touchy about everything. For God's sakes, lighten up already. Us Habs fans poke fun at our own players all the time, but the second another fan from another fan base comes in here, some of you puff out your chest and act all macho.
Keep things fun and easy going. We're all just compadres in the end.
And for that matter, I am in the GDT of the Bruins board right now, and there are some classy people in there that are treating Habs fans with respect. Why not try doing the same? Maybe?

I totally agree with you. But hey I visited the Bruins board a couple of times trying to have a good ¨argumentation¨ with them ...guess what ...some of them are like the gestapo of HF
