The worst thing we can do is rush him or any other kid into situations that could damage their long term game.

I also agree that we aren't getting anywhere near enough for our touted vets. When Smyth got his 20th I thought that he might slow down, so far it looks like he has.
Actually it is Simmonds, Handzus and Poni that are letting down the Kings. The third line has been horrible all season with helping the offense. The top two lines have been pretty good this season. The 4th line has been chipping in enough too.

It's the third line and the PP that is costing the Kings the playoffs.

It did feel awesome to put my fist through my windshield though. Worst thing about it, I had a friend on the team who to this day hasn't let me forget it.

The "re-inactments" have been pretty darn funny and typically very shameful.
I've been there - of course, it was 30+ years ago, but still ....

Because Quick started 72 games last year and pretty much every game he played down the stretch was a "must win" then, too. It hurts us in the playoffs.

Also, Props to Penner for getting involved when Kopi was knocked down, it's the little things that count.

Exactly.

Hey I'm a fan of Bernier, but I'm not delusional. Quick is the better goalie, and he should have been in this game.

Put it this way: How would you like it if the Coyotes played Bryzgalov vs the Blue Jackets one night and then put in LolBarbera vs the Ducks in the next game?

Zues and Smyth sure have been disappointments to me at times this season. Poniboy is what I knew he would be when we signed him so no surprises there. Simmonds alone has played well enough but his play is also one of the reasons that I continue to point my finger at our head coach.

If that's the case (and I agree that it is), then why not play Bernier vs the Canucks instead of this one?

Was that game more important than this one? NO.

For what it's worth, with 77 points we're still in the eighth spot and we have a game in hand on all three teams with 75 points, so we can't lose our spot tomorrow.

That's what I said. Apparently, he doesn't get how the rotation works. You can't burn out Quick for the playoffs. We all saw what happened last season.

Hopefully Schenn or Loktionov can add some skill to the lineup next season on the third line. Handzus is a huge liability this season. He could use a game off.

It was 82 when I did that so were pretty close.

My second "car" but my first bought it new car. No, the warranty didn't cover it was something I wanted to write on my shirt.

Ten wins are still probably needed to make it in. Only sixteen left.

Maybe 9-6-1 gets them in.

Did you complain about Bernier starting against the Coyotes too? Just curious...

Because in the last important division game Bernier played, against Phoenix, he posted a shutout.

He had a great game but let's not overreact.
Yeah but then that weakens the Simmonds like which actually played really well tonight.

They just cannot keep sending Smyth out there. They just can't he is just awful. I realize he is a well respected veteran but he is three steps behind every play in all three zones. Eventually it was going to catch up with the Kings and it certainly did tonight.

I know the guy has great hands and smarts around the net, but frankly with as little as we score we cannot overcome defensive plays like he made tonight or the stick penalties he takes because he can't keep up with anyone.

Stick him on the PP and let him play a little bit on the 4th line. He can't be counted on to do much else.

Meh, I blame Doughty.

He was on the ice for every single ****ing goal against, and he was the main reason why Dallas scored on our own Power Play. That pass was one of the stupidest things I've seen all year. He should get berated by Murray for even attempting that **** up one.

After his terrible game against the Canucks where he embarrassed himself and got kicked out, he follows it up with this crap. He doesn't deserve anywhere near the amount of money he probably thinks he is worth.

We got a point, but now we have to play a better team than the Stars on the road.

Bernier isn't the reason we lost, but Quick is our #1.

Game isn't lost on one goal, but dammit JJ, step up to the guy. He should never have pulled back so far to do that move.

Gang... Please stop verbally beating up on each other in posts. It's ridiculous. Were all fans of the same team. There's no reason to go all Donner party in the PGT.
