No. I doubt anyone would claim him because if they are a playoff team, he wouldn't be able to play in the playoffs. We are going to be fine. Our little slump is about to end...tonight.

Michael Effin LOL-EIGHTON!

Puhhhhleeeze! The dude has more holes than the microsoft operating system! I wish we had a Linux goaltender like Vokoun but we are going to have to go with Bob and Boucher who I prefer over LOL-eighton....

Both Boosh and Bob are going through a rough patch and have to polish their games but right now they are completely being screwed over by a brain dead D....

This thread makes me feel like this.

And to address the matter of calling up Leighton:

Rangers just lost Biron... and Leighton would represent a 750K backup next year (that's a good deal).

Wow, a lot of people don't understand the point of a message board.
Maybe some people should read through posts before they make condescending interpretations.
The thread was merely a question of "will homer hit the panic button". In no way am I advocating the services of Michael leighton, nor am I even a fan of Michael leighton. But if things keep going the way they're going, I'm afraid homer will do something drastic. In which case, leighton could get claimed, and we probably lose ville leino next season.
The reasoning behind this is that the deadline has passed and there isn't really any other options that homer has to shake things up if he started to panic, and leightons numbers I adirondack are decent enough for homer to stumble down that path.

The only real thing Homer did drastic outside of serious signings was firing Stevens and replacing him with Lavy, which was a smart move. Your definition of Homer doing something "drastic" is a misinterpretation. You're scared that he'll do something stupid. Just say it. Even after getting a team together that made a Stanley Cup finals run, even after keeping all the necessary pieces together to make a team that has been for a good portion of the season the best team in the east, you still think the guy has nothing but cobwebs in that skull of his.

Like I said in an earlier post in another thread, every division leader has been on 3 or 4 game skids this season, Tampa even having a 6 game skid. There's no reason for anything "drastic" now, and everyone knows that. Homer's not panicking, you are.

The entire Flyers team could use one of those right now. Several, in fact... until they start talking funny.

I wouldn't risk the re-entry claim. Lots of teams would like a backup.

Exactly, namely the aforementioned Biron-less Rangers.

I actually think he'd do just fine for us, especially with the current defense corps. But I don't think Bob or Boosh deserve to lose their jobs, and the reentry risk makes it a no-brainer.

He's just been decent in Adirondack. I know the team is not good but for comparison Ray Emery made five or six appearances in Syracuse, a positively terrible team in their own right, and went 4-1 with a 1.98 GAA after not only an injury that was not only career-threatening but mobility-threatening.

I would sooner have signed him and carried three goalies than bring back Leighton at this point. I talked to Leighton and saw him in his only morning skate and only game of the year. He didn't have whatever he had before the injury, it's going to be a long recovery at even at 100% it was probably a mistake to bring him back unfortunately.

If it wasn't for Leighton though we would have probably never even made it to the Stanley cup. He helped us get there a great deal and I am happy about that. But, that last goal he let in was terrible and should never have went in. Chicago in the end was just the better team. We were burnt out because we only had two D lines out there. This season we have a great third line pairing and unless we beat ourselves (which is possible by the looks of the effort) this cup will be ours this season Between the three goalies we will have to play the hot hand at the time because every one of our goalies has a weakness whether it is inexperience, inconsistency, rebound control or the 5 hole. And anyone of them can get hot at any moment and seem to stop everything. Goalies are goalies, but the forwards and defense man are what will really win the games for anyone (look at Detroit for example).

But Detroit is winless in their last 4 games. Surely this is a catastrophe and they are doomed?
