31-21-6 = 31 wins and 27 losses. Price has won 4 more games than he has lost. It's good, but nothing impressive.

And no, he won't reach 40 wins.

Yeah just like Roy was terrible in '93 going 31-25-5, I mean he only won 6 more games than he lost...terrible

Actually, Price was often the reason why the Habs got a point in those games.

Try again!

Team stats dont necaserily tell all of the story I dont know if you have watched all 66 games this year but ive caught at least 55-60 and its obvious he is the best player on the ice for the habs night in night out.
Let's also not overlook the fact that Gorges, our best defensive D behind Markov will have missed half the season, and Markov, our perennial MVP, missing for almost the entire season.

Yeah, Price isn't impressive at all for a guy of the mature and wise age of 23.

What do you mean, it's only 9 starts, he can give the other 7 to Auld

So what happened to all the people who booed Price on that opening pre-season game? All the people who ripped on Gainey for defending Price (Thouroughbred) & Gauthier for the Halak trade (Halak currently tied for 30th in save %)? They're sitting around chanting CA-REY CA-REY CA-REY, hahaha.

I keep this in mind everyday, but I comfort myself a little bit knowing that he was playing tons of games while still playing for Tri-City.

I'm not too worried a about that because of his age.
I figure he'll get four of the last 16 off, with most of those coming at the end of the sched.

He could easily play 14 games out of 16. On these 14 games, winning 9 and losing 5 is more than just possible. I'd say he has a good shot.

Price gets his 40th/100th win in the last game of the season against Toronto. The Laughs get eliminated from the playoffs and the Habs clinch the division title at the same time.

I could die right there.

Maybe he'll go 11-3 and tie the record...

Either way, what a year considering the injuries and lack of scoring. Much credit should (but likely won't) be given to the coaching staff for designing a system around team defense and timely goaltending. If you've got a star, you lean on him and the Habs have done just that with Carey. Obviously he's answered the bell. Good for Carey.

Not to nitpick but Barrasso got his 100 first wins on a lousy Sabres team. His best forwards were Dave Andreychuk and an aging Gilbert Perreault. He was traded in Pittsburgh at 23. The guy certainly had an amazing start for a career.

If I'm not mistaken, Harry Lumley is the youngest goalie to reach 100 wins, doing it at 22 years and a couple of months in 1948.

Honestly, I don't feel like 40 is the right number. We have 16 games left and I doubt that auld is in any of them. We are battling for playoff position and still have a real chance for not only the division (5 points) but also the conference (6 points). 43 wins is what I think it will take to win the conference, so that is what I am going with. So long as we win the right games vs boston and philly I think we are positioned well to do some major damage down the stretch.
/homer
in conclusion,
43 wins for the conference title.
45Wins for the hart.
