I didn't think they would ever scratch Nodl, since he plays on the pk.

Unless you guys completely run us over tonight, you'll still see some magic. MPS and his speed are ridiculous and eberle is magic in close. Omark also always has something up his sleeve too.

Good luck tonight Philly, all us oilers fans really want is a good game.

Versteeg has been killing penalties, so it's not as vital Nodl is there to do it.

I think Nodl had four shifts through two periods a couple of games ago. Unless it was injury or flu related, which apparently it wasn't, that sent a signal. However, Laviolette obviously likes Nodl, too.

Disappointing thing is that the Oilers won't be back for another two years, by then the Oilers should be a pretty decent team though.

I think they can really use this game to send a message to the rest of the league that they're still here. Come out swinging, run the score up, fight, do what ever it is that you gotta do to destroy edmonton.

Although Edmonton isnt that good an opponent, they can still challenge the flyers tonight if they play well. Hopefully the Flyers show up though, if they do this one will be put away early.

Of course I'd like a 2-1 win the same as a drubbing but I said if they send a message, which I think this game is good for.

"After the game, Oilers' coach Glen Sather complained about the choppy ice surface and also about the Flyers usage (now common) of water bottles on top of the nets. Sather said "Why not have a bucket of chicken or hamburgers there." "

WOW..nice thread MSE!!

Hey MSE...I "borrowed" your lineups from the Toronto GDT for the Oilers GDT last night. Hope it's OK with you!

What an outstanding, historic thread you have here...great work. I'm going to put the link on my GDT at HF Oilers....so people can see how a REAL thread should look. (Mine is a 1st GDT and is a complete and utter epic failure compared to this piece of work)...Maybe you should go for the Pulitzer prize for GDT's if they have them.

Anyways, good luck tonight Philly, I am a Philly fan before the Oilers (have been for 30 +) years, and let's hope the Flyers get out of the slump. But don't embarass the Oilers please

Rumor has it Orwell did GDTs for the Montreal Maroons.

The lineups for tonight's game vary from the recent Toronto game. The updates for tonight are included in the first post of this thread.

Embarrass? At this point I'd happily take a one-goal lead at the end of regulation.

"The Flyers last won a regular season game at Philadelphia on November 9, 2000. Edmonton has won the last four.
The Flyers last won a regular season game at Edmonton on March 19, 2001 and are 3-13-4-0 in the last 20 regular season road games"

Apparently.

say what you want about Carcillo being with Richie tonight, but for whatever reason, Carcillo plays a pretty good game when he's with Richie. Whether that be a product of being on the line or whatever other reason, it works.

I think the team needs Carcillo, especially with the kind of energy he can bring, just hopefully the energy isn't turned into stupidity.
