Sabres open year @ Home vs Isles

WGR has obtained info that the Sabres will open up the 2005-06 season at home on October 5th vs the NYI. Also the Sabres will host Sidney Crosby and the Penguins on October 10th...and the ticket lines start...now.

I quite like the schedule - looks favourable for the most part.

Talk about putting the pressure on us to do very good against our conference rivals. Our last 35 games are all against teams in the east. I love this schedule.

A bunch of home-and-home series with the Habs. And unless I'm on crack and hallucinating, do we play consecutive games away at Toronto? (Apr.1 and 3?) Is that a typo and should one of them be a home game? I don't think I remember seeing two games in a row against one team on the road like that.

That's odd. The Bruins play consecutive away games at Montreal on April 1st and 4th.

Did y'all notice that the Bruins and Sabres play each other FIVE TIMES in March? That'll add some spark to the rivalry, eh?

But I'm with you guys: LOVE the unbalanced schedule. Let's get back to old-time, Adams Division hockey!

How do you figure? By most accounts, Crosby is more than ready to play in the NHL. The only way he's not suited up for the Pens on 10/5 is if Patrick has a massive brain cramp and trades him or El Sid gets injured in camp.

Looks like you should drive to D.C. and see the Sabres play Washington a few times. Maybe you'll get to see Ovechkin.

I have a feeling we will win this game based on the fact this is the team that ruined our chances last year.

Also we started 1-2 not 0-3

IMO, we should be 3-1 to start the year. Anything less shouldn't be expected.
