I knew this wouldn't get a suspension, though i was hoping that the history between the two of them would wake up the league, let's all cross our fingers that Patch sues Chara.

What discuss me the most is that Bruins fans will act as a moral authority and the Habs fans will be labeled as whiners... this is going to be painful.

And yes, before you tell me, I know he's not allowed to review cases involving the Bruins. If you think that changes anything, you're incredibly naive. Anyone who saw the leaked emails knows how things really work in the NHL.
Not that I don't believe you, but do you have a link to the leaked emails? I would be really curious to see.

Its a bloody joke ...Im sorry I love Hockey but NHL has turned back the clock, They don't protect their players at least the NFL is trying to make a difference. Thats why NHL Hockey will always be a non factor in the big Sports market no TV contracts and what not. People don't want to watch a man get killed on TV. Ill stick to world championships and Olympic Hockey NHL is thug goon hockey..feel bad for the real good hockey players stuck with mediocre goons.

I hate to say it but I'm not surprised. Not surprised at all.

I don't agree with it, don't like it but what's done is done.

Here's to a speedy recovery Max.

Not even angry.

Just sad.

If I was outraged, I'd proclaim I'm done with hockey and get over it in a week.

This? Just resignation.

Thoughts with Max and his family. Beyond that, who cares. I don't want to be watching the game, in the crowd, or wearing the jersey when someone finally gets killed and then the NHL actually reacts.

I'm so disappointed with this. I guess we'll just have to hope that karma manages to track him down.

This is painfully right.

Normally Colin Campbell would have been fired, but Bettman is just as corrupt if not moreso (see: Phoenix Coyotes situation)

How about a rival who's actually a rival? Boston has beaten us once in the last ten games, that's what this is all really about.

I honestly, 100% expected at least 3-4 games out of this. I was thinking how could they not suspend him at all? There's no way.

Not even giving him a couple of games is just beyond reasoning and they just basically said: it's ok to almost kill someone because it happened quickly and if you're a top 10 player in the league you can do whatever you want.

That's with every indication that he DID intend to do what he did (history, pushing action, game's score)

My point exactly. This isn't normal that stars are allowed to take liberties and basically get away with anything

Yes, while waiting for the NHL ruling. He or any other member of the team (Boivin, Molson, medical staff, hockey staff, players) could comment at any time now that there is a decision made.

They'll probably go for the very short and polite press release instead.

Chara, superstar, captain of the Bruins who are a consensus Stanley Cup Contender™, and who just so happen to employ one Gregory Campbell, gets off scot-free for literally breaking an opponent's neck. Is anyone REALLY that surprised?

But hey, it's only a bone and his bell got rung, right?

This is a joke, but I don't know why it should be so shocking. We already knew the disciplinary process was a farce, and given the player and the team involved, it was obvious ahead of time not much would come out of it. I'm actually a little surprised they didn't give him a two game slap on the wrist for appearance's sake, but I guess the no-suspension is what they really wanted.

Disgrace. The NHL has no respect for Canadian teams.
I bet the Molsons wont do anything, they are cowards.

Hoping for a player to get injured is beyond stupid. Grow up!

The best retaliation is to crush the Bruins AGAIN next game. We are not afraid of the Boston Goons. The hockey world will be tuning in March 24th... we will show class and spank them with superior hockey.

I'd be very interrested in knowing what Patrice Bergeron thinks about this : he cries wolf at every questionnable hit, calling for more respects between players and more discipline from the league.

Let's see if he has the balls to call out a teammate, AND the league for not dishing out sanctions against him.
