It's because teams can't ignore his wingers anymore. It was hilarious when King was on the first line, teams would literally ignore him in the offensive zone.
Penner and Williams get respect from defenders. Richardson and Simmonds, no so much.
This is true. I'm liking Penner's addition a lot. Plus, when he goes after the puck around the boards, he almost always comes out with it. Opponents just can't get around him to get to the puck and he's so strong. I also think Penner's vision and passing is underrated. But all in all, I'm loving the first line. I hope they get to stay together for awhile.
... Awwwww, that's adorable. But there are two quality goalies on this team, not one. I'd like to keep it that way.
You got to play your best goalie down the stretch. Bernier has been good, yes. Quick is better still. I know you like Bernier more, but it's Quick's team, at least this year.

So yes, let's play him the last 15 games to make him surpass the 72 he played last year. I love it.

... I think they've been pretty even over the last couple months and change. I also think they both need to be kept sharp in case of an injury or a slump. They have the luxury of two quality goalies right now - they need to take advantage of that.
I also don't believe the team belongs to any one individual, as it implies that one player is bigger than the team.
Next 4, I'd like to see a simple alternating plan.
3/11 - at Columbus - Bernier
3/13 - at Dallas - Quick
3/15 - at Nashville - Bernier
3/17 - vs St Louis - Quick
You guys jumping on Drew with that pass....you do realize that a ton of the kings breakouts this year and clears are the result of the pass up the middle like that right?
During the timeout you see drew talking to murray, and drew appears to point on to that corner of the ice. It would not surprise me if that was what Doughty was suppose to do and someone else was out of position.
I don't want to discredit your post but I am really curious if this is sarcasm?

You've got some pretty heavy implication going there.

I'm not saying I'm right. But are you going to say I'm wrong that d-men this year, use the short pass up the middle of the ice as a way to break out of the zone this year?

What's wrong with this? Nothing.
Personally I would like to see a 2-3 games to 1 ratio between them. And of course the team doesn't belong to one individual, but Quick has been, and should be the clear #1 at this point. And again I'm not discrediting what Bernier is doing or accomplishing.
You've got some pretty heavy implication going there.
I was implying he should play in the majority of the games going down the stretch. Play Bernier enough to keep him sharp and keep Quick rested. Nothing more.
