Chara is a giant coward because of this and because in the previous goon-fest, he already went after Pacioretty while Pacioretty was engaged.
Well that would go well. Max is a midget compared to Chara.

A black eye and a cut or two on his face over a fractured vertebrae and a severe concussion. Not hard to make a choice there.

I hope he gets well soon.

Instead of crying he could just accept Chara's apology...
I'm not saying there was a choice, but granted if there was one, I'm sure Patches would obviously choose to fight.

And crying instead of accepting an apology? It sure as hell would be a lot easier if he didn't have to hear dumb comments like, "oh, he kind of jumped into the glass" and, "oh, he kind of leaned forward". Give me a damn break. A man that tries to avoid media by jumping on the bus, only to come back out and jump to excuses, and then continue to think it was just a "strong, hard hockey play", can't be as sorry as he claims to be.

I'm not a habs fan, I just wanted to say I've got ton of respect for what Pacioretty said. Straight man who's not hiding behind any phrases.

I don't think that there is anything that our team can do about this except dress a couple guys that are in Hamilton (Henry,Bonneau) for the next game vs Boston.

I know that it wont happen but I want a little more muscle in the lineup vs the gooins. Chara, Horton and Lucic need some pumeling done to them. Can't believe these guys.

Also the NHL policy not to talk to the victim before the verdict is stupid beyond all measures. Even if they dismiss what the victim says his side of the story must be heard before a decision.

If murphy cant see that Chara has a history with Max and then can't see that Chara guided Max head into the stantion with his arm up and helping to guide Max then maybe he needs new glasses?

Seriously this is just a big crock of ****!!

So Chara didn't try to put Max in the hospital, just hurt him a little while guiding his head into the turnbuckle? seriously give your head a shake.

I can see pushing a guy into the benches and stuff and even checking someone into the turnbuckle but to actually guide another humans head into a turnbuckle while traveling as fast as they were? i mean they were going as fast as they can. Max was going to speed by Chara without the puck and then gets his head rammed into the turnbuckle.

you are not serious, and just reacting without really assessing all the facts. Take off your goon glasses and look at the facts.

No, but the Renaud Lavoie article on RDS, who also spoke to Pacioretty, is very encouraging.

Max basically says that his head is claear, no headaches, only neck pain.

A c4 vertabrae fracture takes 4 weeks to heal and Max said that its just a fracture like any other and does not mind.

He apparently has already started his rehabilitation program and wants to get back ASAP.

Certainly seems to have the right attitude and not to affected by the hit.

Apparently, when he woke up on the stretcher, he told the docs to leave him alone because he wanted to go back and play Now taht is a trooper

That is pure B.S imo.

Where is the "class" in not defiantly sticking up for your employees? Are the habs so hurting for money that they can't afford to pay the fine for JM/PG/Molson to go out and say something... anything.

How can AC, a corporate sponsor with no direct ties to the player, stand up and make a statement, while the team watches silently.

Pathetic.

What I wouldn't give to see how Burke would have reacted were one of his players dismissed so callously.

Makes me feel ashamed of supporting an organization that is "too classy" to publicly support it's own.

Just read this part on TSN ...

I am getting a huge lift from the fans in Montreal. I met one guy who gave me a card telling me I'll be OK. That gives me such a big lift. The people in Montreal have been fantastic."

Happy when I read his comments. He is telling it like it is and if he feels that his head was forced into the stanchion then I believe him. Why was he not interviewed before Chara's fate was decided? That should be part of the process IMO. Fight the good fight Max and speedy recovery.

Just wanted to say get well soon Patches. He is a great kid and doesn't deserve this kind of thing.

I'm pretty darn upset that the league did nothing, but that seems to be status quo right now...

Anyway, here's hoping that Patches gets better quick and that Chara gets a nice shot of karma sometime soon.

My greatest concern is that Max will make a full recovery.

I don't wish for an equivalent injury to a key Bruin but if one occurs and if the warmth of my sympathy for that Bruin could be measured with a thermometer it would not be registering much above 0 degrees and if it were Chara himself it would be cold enough to cause a bottle of Molson's to turn into a block of ice, which in turn would expand and crack the bottle.

Way to go kid...so happy that he took this stand. I am very disappointed in the habs organization though...they didn't have to get all emotional in their response, but they SHOULD have said that they are disappointed in the decision made at very least. To decline comment is so pointless.

Quite the justice system the NHL uses...

A judge who's also the jury
A ''suspect'' that gives his point of view
A victim that can't give his point a view

Anyways, sick of all this already...

Get well Max, hope to see you soon 100% healthy!!

I agree, I understand the time need to keep quiet and not to air all your dirty laundry, but if there was ever a time to speak out publicly, that time is now.

You could not be more blatantly accurate.

Why is that after the lockout they reshaped the game on the ice, but they mad no changes to how they deal with the game off the ice?

He'll be back, I have faith in Max Pacioretty, he is one of the hardest working hockey players I have ever seen. Hopefully he'll back at full capacity as well.

I wonder if the player himself who got targeted says this, if Bruins fans will take off their "rose colored glasses" for a quick second and realize we aren't being homers, that one of our ****ing players nearly got killed by Chara, and whether or not he's a repeat offender all it takes is one act of stupidity to get somebody killed.
