Well, IDEAL, means fortunes favour us and some guys drop a bit more than expected. With that in mind...

2. Sean Couturier
14. Duncan Siemens or Nathan Beaulieu
32. Matt Puempel
50. Rocco Grimaldi
55. Myles Bell
62. Christopher Gibson
92. Stefan Noeson

I seriously doubt Puempel and Grimaldi fall that far, and given I'd be "happy" taking them at 14 and 32, respectively, that is a dream scenario. I think both will be long gone. The others are realistic.

If we can pull a trade of #14, #50 and #92 to for #9, here is another scenario that would be my ideal draft.

2. Adam Larsson
9. Jonathan Huberdeau
32. Matt Puempel
55. Rocco Grimaldi
62. Christopher Gibson

Leave the D till next year, the 1st round is expected to be filled with defensemen.

Maybe I missed something with the Campoli trade but don't we have CHI 2nd which would be pick 50 atm?

Mine really depends on who we get first, I'm not advocating picking for need but it just works out a bit that way in my ideal scenario. Can't see us getting Larsson, so....

2. Lando
14. Zibajenad
32. Puempel
50. Gibson
55. Ambroz

2. Coutourier/RNH
14. Jensen
32. Puempel
50. Gibson
55. Ambroz

Based my expectations off Bobby Mac's mid season ranking so they are probably a bit out of date.

Chicago has 3 2nd round picks IIRC and 48 hours before the draft the choose which to send to the Sens.

So we don't get Chicago's 2nd unless the choose the Chicago pick.

Thanks for that. Just googled it and they have CGY,ATL and their own. I'd imagine they are going to give us theirs which should be around the 50-55 range.

Am I understanding it right?

Yep.

I would imagine that they will give us the lowest pick which, judging by the other teams, is most likely to be Chicago's own second.

depends on team needs really. If someone decides early-mid second to grab a goalie, all 3 of the top guys could go fast. If not, all 3 could still be available around 50.

I'm also hoping for a goalie with the chi/cgy pick.

I REALLY thought Ottawa would have a shot at drafting Larsson and i was so hyped but now we might not even draft Landeskog.

WHAT GIVES?

2: Nugent-Hopkins
14: Zibanejad
32: Catenacci
50: Rask
55: Quine
63 (I think it's 63 because of Montreal's compensation pick): McColgan/Gibson/Friberg

We must draft a winger and a centre in Round 1. I like Landeskog and Scheifele, myself.

Strome at 2nd overall? Have you guys lost it?

Any of the top 4, I don't care which one we get. I personally like Landeskog but really could care less. Don't like Nugent-Hopkins, pretty much because of his name but I can deal with it.

And someone posted Huberdeau going 9th? Not a chance he falls that far, he's got almost as much talent as the top 4, I say he goes 5th or 6th.

Both of these would be awesome as well. Like you said, not sure Puempel or Grimaldi fall that far but here's to hoping!

What about Strome doesn't say 2nd overall? Just out of curiosity.
