Chase for the Presidents Trophy

The Flyers are 7 points behind the Vancouver Canucks with 2 games in hand. Some feel the Presidents Trophy is cursed. I say this is our year to win it as well as Lord Stanley's Cup.

Yeah it would be cool take the President's Trophy (do they hang a banner for that?) but I really don't care too much about it. That's a situation like the Art Ross vs. Hart trophy. I'd rather have the Hart than the Art Ross much like I'd rather have the Cup than the President's Trophy. Would be cool though.

President Trophy winners win the cup more than any of the other 15 seeds, so claiming the curse is moronic.

I want it so game 7 of the Cup final isn't in Vancouver.

Luongo will choke well before the SCF

Maybe. But Vancouver is so far ahead of the rest of the West but maybe Detroit it may not matter.

I really don't care. But that's just another way of me saying I don't think they have a chance to catch up to Vancouver at this point.

If they win their games in hand, the Flyers will only be 3 points back... given the standings before tonight's games (both the Flyers and Canucks are in action tonight).

They still have a pretty good shot.

I doubt the Flyers can pull it off and, frankly, I'm more concerned with staying in first place in their own division.

Division isn't that close. 2 points up with 2 games in hand.

They are closer to Vancouver than Pittsburgh is to them in some senses.

True, but they ran into Halak. Which west goalie this year is going to do that?

Coming hot off peeing away 8 points to competition they should have rolled over, I'm not overly confident that they can make the most of the 2 games in hand.

Screw the President's Trophy. I'd rather have our guys meet the President next year like the Hawks are doing today. And that's to win the Cup.

Make sure they take care of business in their own conference, don't worry about anything else.
