8.9 Earthqauke in Japan: Huge Tsunami hits land

Thought this deserved a separate thread, absolutely gut wrenching to see the live video. Houses, boats and cars literally being swept away in seconds.

Here's a live video feed I found:http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/

Its all over CNN as well. Tsunami warnings is Hawaii and places all over the world

No warning for California yet:http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...m-88-japa.html

CNN Article, Updated with new news when available: http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapc...pt=T1&iref=BN1

Watching the live video from when the wave first hit land was crazy. There were tons of cars trying to flee and they where engulfed by the wave.

This is going to get worse, far worse. A tsunami, the big ones, can last for days. I think it's only been an hour or so since the quake. It will reach us, something of this magnitude has to, but nothing that may cause damage. There is not just the water damage and the immediate loss of life from the flooding and fires but the disease and infection that arises in such situations.

Mother nature, there is no greater force when unleashed.

Horrific. Hoping for the best. Finding perspective in the meantime.

If that measure of an earthquake hit us, I would be writing you from the salty waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Reality check.

Wow, is that some sobering, scary video. I can't even imagine what that'd be like and never hope to find out.

Keeping good thoughts for those people.

We will feel it when gas station owners use this to spike prices.

They better freeze the stock market too or else you will see a huge tumble when it opens later today.
