Get rid of him.

He's redundant. Clouston just loves the guy for some reason.
I'd wait and see till July 1st.

Ideally though, I want him gone and rather give the spot to Condra, Greening, O'Brien or Smith.

Foligno - Winchester - Condra
Greening - Smith - Neil

And how did the puck get on Condra's stick for 2 of his 4 goals.........yup, Shannon......with 2 beautiful plays/passes.

it's true about clouston. as soon as he came to town, shannon was his little man on campus.

i realize he can bring speed and energy (for 10 minutes a game), but why do we make him part of our rebuild other than the fact he's cheap as hell. as a bottom 6 forward, he's really quite useless.

Yes but how did Shannon get to the puck in the first place? Condra's elite stamina has had a big influence on his play.

Serious? For the last goal? Watch the video - Shannon makes a play in the defensive end and kicks the puck to his own stick then passes to Greening who gets it to Condra who sent it up ice. Shannon then beats the defender, had 3 guys on him, and makes the pass to Condra who had a great finish on the play.

What is all this stuff about stamina? Most of these guys are fit and have great stamina. Stamina had something to do with almost icing the puck?

I don't need to watch the video, I heard it on the radio. What I mean is that Condra's elite level stamina allows Shannon to have room to even make nice plays like that.

You are right thought, Condra did have a great finish on the play, with only 2:15 left in the game.

You make him part of the rebuild because he can step into the top 6 when Kids are struggling and need some perspective. Otherwise he can play on the 3rd or 4th line, is sound defensively and a good guy to be around from all reports. Not a leader per say because I have heard from many he is a quiet unassuming kind of guy but a good soldier none the less.

Perhaps one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read on a message board.

What room? Shannon is the one who busted his balls down the ice to nullify icing. The room created was because 3 guys went to Shannon.....like in basketball, someone has to be open. Goal.

woooooooooosh

as for Shannon, take him or leave him, don't really care either way. Personally I'd rather his spot be taken by a younger guy. As MM and Alfie will be back next year. Not all of these bingo guys will stick around.

If it wasn't for Condra, Shannon would be going off for a line change huffing and puffing.

One thing I will say about Shannon thought, is that he has very good (almost elite) awareness.

I think late every season he really picks up his game...

If theres a open roster spot and with nobody being capable from bingo willing to fill it then resign him

What does this mean? Are you implying Shannon is not fit and has no stamina? LOL.

Yup.

The team needs speed and he can be an asset as a PKer in the bottom 6 or in an emergency call up to the top 6.

I agree with the other poster.

Condra created the room via stamina, which is also known as indefatigability.

What room was created by not being tired?

ME? I am trying to figure out what the hell you guys are saying about stamina creating room and how Condra's stamina created that play. I did not bring this up. You did. HappyGilmour's quote: "Condra's elite level stamina allows Shannon to have room...."

Where is there room for Shannon next year?

Forwards under contract:

1. Alfredsson
2. Spezza
3. Michalek
4. Foligno
5. Neil
6. Regin
7. Winchester

RFA's likely re-signed:

8. Butler
9. Z. Smith
10. Greening
11. Condra

12. 2011 1st round pick? (Landeskog, Nugent-Hopkins)
Murray seems to think their 1st pick will play next year

13. Murray said during the STH conference call that the club might try to sign a top 6 forward via free agency this summer.

14. Other possibilities (prospects): O'Brien, Silfverberg

I just don't see where Ryan Shannon fits in.

Before you answer that we can send a guy or two on the list above to Binghamton, keep in mind that guys like Butler, Z. Smith, Greening and Condra would have to clear waivers to be sent down to Binghamton next year since their entry-level contracts will have expired.

Is this true if even guys like Greening and Condra are signed to new 2-way contracts and start the year in Bingo. (I do not know, just asking.)

I still like his game and think he could be a good player on the right line on the right team. But that's a lot of rights to get right. Maybe the new coach doesnt like small players or with RNH, Karlsson and Gonchar, Condra, Butler we'll have enough small bodies for now.
