Leetch not among invitees to 2005 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Orientation Camp

I am *shocked* that Leetch looks to be getting bumped. To say that he is not a top 6 defenseman on Team USA is an embarrassment. What are they thinking?

Is it possible Leetch refused an invitation. I'm pretty sure he was invited to the WC team, but turned it down. I remember reading his comments about that somewhere.

Yes that is true. I doubt he'd turn down the Olympics..but I wouldn't blame them for not asking him to join them because of that.

From Yahoo Sports:
Quote:
``This doesn't represent the players that will be definitely on Team USA,'' said Don Waddell, general manager of the 2006 U.S. Olympic team. ``We didn't feel we needed to bring (some of the older players) to the orientation camp.''
Quote:
Waddell said USA Hockey has contacted many of those players, including Leetch, to explain what is happening with the orientation.

The US has little chance of winning Gold as it is, take Leetch out and they would be lucky to medal.
