I was going to make my first GDT a nice one but then going back and reading over previous GDT's it seems like tradition to keep GDT's as minimized as possible. So I will keep the tradition going...

Lets hope this isn't the curse of the "so will he" (see the Pittsburgh GDT)

And that might be the most complicated GDT we've had all year, thank god we're playing the leafs lol.

Your idea of minimalism is a little off kilter

To be honest, I was getting sort of tired of every other boards' GTDs looking a million times better than ours. This is a step in the right direction imo.

We'll lose this one. Toronto will keep barely holding onto their playoff hopes, then the Rangers will win later on in San Jose and we'll be put back in 8th.

At first I didn't put any graphics, then I realized it was HNIC and just couldn't resist putting a few in there...

Don Cherry was a must.

He practically makes HNIC, it would be a sin not to have him in there.

Well, maybe they'll play Enroth anyways, we'll see.

Yeah, true minimalism is a one-word gdt, preferably the minimum 4 letters. And minimalism has been proven to work.

Although the current "no space in the gdt title" is 2-0 (with the pitt game deviating), so hopefully we'll have that going for us.

Fact: The last five Cup winners all had non-minimalist GDTs.

I don't see Carolina losing to Columbus, but I do foresee the Rags getting pummeled in San Jose. I think we'll see the sort-of hot Islands take down the red-hot Devils too.

Buffalo just needs to stay the course tonight. As long as they can match the Leafs' effort, they'll be picking up two more points.

I'm predicting a hatty for Vanek. It's been awhile since he's gotten one and Toronto is his favorite punching bag.

Buffalo wins 4-1

Sabres show up on national TV again, and street prophets come out. A win.

Go Sabres.

Yea plain and simple GDT is the way to go, it suits Buffalo better than flashy and loud (opposite of Don Cherry). I love Grapes, as the crazy out of town uncle.

Sabres-6
Leafs-3

We are due to hand out an A** whipping!

McCormick, Leopold, or Sekera get a goal.

4-2 Sabres. Leafs score one late to make it 3-2 and we get an EN Niedermeyer goal.

The Sabres, meanwhile, are 4-1-1 on their season-long road trip with only Saturday's game in Toronto remaining.

"They're going be ready," Wilson said. "Number one; they'll be thinking let's bury this team. One less team to worry about. They've been successful in Toronto a lot and they'll feel good about the game. But we can't worry about what they're thinking about. (We need to) do the things we need to do to beat them."

It's been awhile since Miller's last shutout too - and the Leafs are an even bigger personal punching bag for him. Add in the fact that he'll have a HNIC audience as a stage and it seems a sure bet he'll shine.

3-0 Sabres.

I'm still waiting for the day that you come on here and tell us all your actually a closet Canes fan and have been trolling here the past two years for fun.

Sabres take this one. Cant lose to the Laughs twice in a row. Miller will want redemption and Boyes is playing in front of a bunch of family.

3-1 Sabres

Bush league move. You do realize that they do a pre-game talk thread and then a game thread (and a post-game thread)? Or did your ventures over there not make that readily apparent? Let fans of their own teams have their own board traditions.

Keep accumulating points. This weekend is a big opportunity to build some separation from the Rags and Canes. If we can gut out 4 pts, and SJ can do what their supposed to, we can go up 4 pts on NYR and at least 4 on Carolina.

I think they'll come out hard after their stinker vs Toronto in Buffalo, and tough out a 3-2 win.

This has either a Ryan Miller shut-out, or a Ryan Miller blow-out written all over it.

There are no other options. Unless Enroth get's the start. At which point it's an overtime win.
