Boy, Mason looked pissed off after Kopi's goal...like he wanted to take his marbles and go home.

That move was filthy. I fell off the couch with that Kopitar head and shoulder fake and I saw it the first time...poor Mason.

I love the lone hat on the ice. I missed that on the stream.

See Zeus on the half boards standing still looking for a passing lane ON THE PP? That is what I referred to earlier regarding bad habits coming back. That cannot happen anymore. He should have skated that back or to the red line to allow his point man to collapse. Then, you have a lane.

Even strength points scored:

Pretty impressive. Two points behind Ovechkin for 1st in the NHL, with a game in hand.

Goes to show you how having a weak PP not only distorts the offensive stats of the team, but also the players. If the PP was as strong as it was last year, Kopitar would probably be on pace for 90+ points right now.

I'm arguing that we're a soft team with or without Westy so we might as well dress a better player - Richie - than dress Westy.

You may disagree here but I don't think Westy adds any team toughness. Hell, Westy averages less than 1 hit a game (Richie averages more) and he's rarely involved in scrums because he can't keep up with the play. Some will disagree but I don't think staged fights add anything to team toughness. We're definitely short on team grit but I just don't see how Westgarth brings any of that in his game/role. Since it's not something he can bring or his role allows, and we don't have any guys like Clifford that are ready to step into the role either, we're better off dressing our 12 best skaters.

I don't think Clune is the answer based off of what I saw last year but if it was a Clune vs. Westgarth debate, I'd go with the Clune every time.
Fair enough, we weren't far apart to begin with and our only wedge sits within how we see Westgarth as a potential NHL caliber 4rth line player. I say we haven't seen his best yet but I could be wrong. He was much better in the AHL so I have some hope that I am hanging onto.

If Simmonds played with more of an edge we could have a scary third line next year once Zues is replaced.

The Three amigos first line
The Seniors Rule second line
Cliffy/?/Simmonds
Richie Lewis etc

As we sit I wonder if we have room for a real enforcer with who we have available next season.

I thought Murray said he was only changing up the top unit's PP setup? Which is why he went with a skilled unit.

I know, its shameful.

I try everytime I see them asked for and it just gets worse and worse. The sad part is that I like to continue trying to see just how awful I can become. Not that I am trying to fail, I am honestly trying to come up with a good one but it just doesn't work.

I know I am the only one laughing but I can't seem to help it.

Shows how good that kid named Crosby is, only one with a greater than PPG at even strength on that list.

Not to mention he is 7th in scoring altogether. And to think we were ragging on him for being "invisible" earlier this year. The guy is going to be a MONSTER next year now that he has TWO competent linemates.

Imagine how Kopitar would have looked with Kovalchuk on his wing all season.

Murray better not **** up and change the top lines.

Yeah for awhile there I questioned why Brown wasn't on the top line. But a Williams is fine too.

just watched the replay, great game. We kept pressure up and the legs were moving the entire 3rd period.

Wow @ all this Westgarth discussion. The guy barely gets minutes. I won't get into the entire obsolete discussion because I agree completely with TG on that.

Was I the only one that noticed the game settled down after Westy got in a fight? Our players, particularly Drew, were getting run before that. After that fight, it all just kind of stopped.

Two & a half men

Kopitar and Penner are tall, while Williams is shorter.
