To be fair, Daigle's potential was much greater than Pronger's, but that was about it.

Even with there improved play I still thing they finish in the bottom 5. Then there is some luck involved with the lottery. So all isn't lost.

Also it wouldn't surprise me if Murray traded up a spot if necessary to get his guy.

Ok, look, we aren't getting out of the bottom 5, probably not even the bottom 4. This isn't a .700 Win% team, it's so statistically improbable for us to make it out of the basement that it just can't happen within reason. We've had .960 Sv% on 333 shots since Anderson's arrival and scored 21 goals. If that Sv% drops even to .940, that'd have been 6 more goals against (14 to 20) in that span and we probably go 5-5-0 instead of 7-3-0 and we are not having this conversation. If we can finish the last 24 games with a .500 record we'll still have out pick and shown some hope for next year.

The sky isn't falling on our tank. Stay realistic, this team isn't that good.

oops, missed that point. sorry.

The sens have a pretty tough schedule, it is very possible they will go 5 - 9, unfortunately two of those 5 wins would be against Florida.

I prefer Oilers and Avs to lose rather than Isles and Panthers, simply because 2 good prospects is going in the Western Conference, which doesn't affect us directly

I don't mind finishing 28th in the league as long as we finish last in the East. It also gives us a chance to pick 1st or 2nd.

QFT. I'm not even sure it counts for 10% in their decision making

you "think" we will stay in the top 5?

ppl thinking we wont finish, standing wise, in the bottom 5 are just as delusional as the guys who think toronto can still make the playoffs

So which goalie do we sign long term, Mr Anderson or MacElHasek?

Just got home.

Bahahahaha!

Even McInstantloss won. We, the team that invented tanking, are the worse tankers EVER.

Generally, this is what comes to my mind when you get people freaking out about the tank:

Anyone agree?

Not true -- but believe what you want. You are spoonfed hype, but don't be a slave to it. Why did Jeff Skinner go 7th and puts up better rookie numbers than even Hall? Strome is the real deal. If he can bulk up over the summer and put in a good camp he'd play on our second line next year. 101 points, 32 goals in 61 games is nothing to scoff at. That doesn't take into account the rest of his game.

On a night where he scored 2 goals, he really wasn't impressive all over the ice. I thought his whole game was pretty average tonight...but if he can learn to take one timers like that and continue to involve that part of his game...he could score a lot of goals like that.

Dunno what wasn't impressive about his game especially considering their team was absolutely dominated by the 67s tonight. I pretty much only watched him when he was on the ice and he did a lot of good things all over -- but I made my write-up already. If you weren't impressed you weren't impressed. I'm considered biased because of what I think of him (that's fine, he got 2 goals and the first star on top of winning at least 60% of his faceoffs, and causing hazards in the neutral zone, carrying the puck and handling it amazingly, etc.)

I don't think anyone will have an open mind to him because they have their mind locked on the 'big 4.'

Gotta agree with you here. I`ll be surprised if we get out of the bottom 5. Hell, even if we do a damn fine prospect is heading our way

Lots of tears in this thread for no apparent reason. This team is winning without Furh's hero Brian Elliot, this should be a great thing to celebrate on this forum!

To be honest I don't see a lot of NHL potential in Strome. Seems like another Svitov.

I understand why people are complaining that we're winning, the season is already lost so people want the highest pick possible.

What I don't understand is Furh has refrained from posting on these boards practically the whole season, yet people still bring up his name.

It's almost like some of you are obsessed with him.
