You guys are crazy.
If it wasn't for him, we would have been out in the 2nd rd last year.

Although I agree Gagne was insanely clutch, I credit Richards for getting out of the 2nd round.

Krejci's injury changed it all in my eyes.

So the last season's locker room turmoil wasn't Richards vs. Pronger but Richards+Pronger vs. Gagne?

Plot thickens!

I'm not sure I'm buying Gagne as some kind of locker room cancer.

I hated the deal at the time, and I still hate it. I'd rather they kept Gagne and didn't sign Z and Shelley. Or alternatively I'd have rather Homer worked some kind of Gagne for Mez deal and just left Walker out of it, assuming Yzerman would have gone for it. Or hell, just waive Gagne if you absolutely have to, why flush capspace wrapped up in a Walker jersey down the toilet?

There's no doubt we lost the trade, but it allowed the Flyers to add some nice depth, and they're doing very well this season.

I'd love to have Gagne back on this team (no chance of it happening this season), and hypothetically he's still a great fit for Laviolette's system...when healthy. It's clear Laviolette's system relies on an element of physicality, and I seriously question how long Gagne could stay healthy within this system. I love the guy and all, and when he was here and healthy he was great, but you can't put that much into a player who's in and out of the lineup.

It was kind of disheartening for a lot of fans because it was a pure business move.

There was always something about gagne, People quickly forget when he was re-negotiating his contract, his abuse of the medical staff, he's called out the NHL on it's policy. Turned down the captaincy.

Maybe Gagne was doing things that we as fans were not aware of. For the pitance of a return, homer obviously wanted him off the team quickly.
I'd say for financial reasons, not because he was a problem.

Nodl couldnt carry Gagne's skates. the logic is completely flawed.
Sad how people have such short memories around here. Gagne was cast aside like he was a piece of garbage and some now want to blame him for some made up lockerroom discord.

Gagne was one of the best locker room people in the past 10 years for the Flyers. Seriously, I REALLY hope Homer goes for him in the offseason.

Exactly 6 GWG in the playoffs.

The Gagne back to Philly ship has sailed, as much as it sucks to say. Stop having pipedreams that he'll be back. He wanted to go to Tampa, which leads me to believe he's going to be interested in resigning there.

Actually, he didn't want to go anywhere. He felt uncomfortable staying here after the team repetitively asked him to waive his NTC.

I agree, however, that it's quite unlikely he'll be back.

But after waiving it, he picked Tampa as the destination he wanted to go too.

Big difference between wanting to go somewhere, and not feeling welcome where you are and picking the best place to move on to.
