If anything these guys can play for the Pack they will need a vet or 2, while Lampman, Tyutin and Kondratiev will prolly be with the Rangers.

Sportsnet.ca -- Add the name Mathieu Biron to the list of buyout players.

Sources tell Sportsnet the Panthers placed Biron on waivers Wednesday and will complete the process of buying out his contract later Thursday.

The 6'6 defencemen will be free to sign with any other NHL team, but he leaves Florida well compensated. It is believed Biron received a $600,000 bonus that was triggered in June, in addition to the $350,000 Florida will have to spend to buy him out.

There is a reason why he gets waived every year.

Maybe he needs the right coaching. He was a first round pick. I still think he has potential. 5/6 dman. Heck right now we need some D with some size.

This mornings' NY Post has the Rangers KEEPING Holik, what are they thinking? He isn't worth the $$ or the cap room. Gatton has been released and would be a much better fit and a new younger Ranger team.......

Holik is uber-better then Chris Gratton. Since the buy-out is like 3 quarters of the contract it might be better just to keep Holik if they aren't planning on big UFA's. PLEASE dump Kaspar. I could survive if they keep one of these guys, but not both. LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR THORNTON OR LECAVALIER.

Seriously. It's a no brainer who I would rather have on my team between Holik and Gratton, especially a young rebuilding one. You can tell Holik is intelligent. Gratton on the other hand...

I wouldn't mind either Holik or Kaspar on this years team but there's no way either's presence justifies the eaten cap space

Orszagh might be interesting. He's not that old (28) and he has some skill.
