Was kind of pissed for Mara to drop the gloves, thought the Pens would get momentum and a goal or two. Still love the guy though, and I hope he re-signs, perfect 7th defenceman.

Cooke is piece of ****. Weber out-muscles him and he gets all antsy. White gets in his face but of course Cooke pretends he doesn't see him.

And why do Penguins fans boo Subban? Why not boo the guy that dominated your team with 7 goals in the playoffs? But I guess they are all bandwagoners and know nothing about hockey anyways.

Settled? I'd take Halak anyday of the week for a prospect..

Kosty fed 2 great passes that could've resulted in goals. Apart from that, yea, he was a bit soft on the puck.

nice bounce back win after the game in st. louis. so happy for carey and his 8th shutout! nice to see our top 2 lines providing the offense. kudos to mara for mixing it up for the team despite having his them stitches in his mouth.

I don't doubt they didn't want to move Eller. Who would? High 1st round pick, big body centre with high upside. But they needed a Halak.. and it's going to be good for them moving forward. Unforunately for St. Louis, they couldn't deal with the injuries as well as we did in Montreal. I'm expecting big things out of St. Louis in the next year or two.

I don't think his upside is that much higher than Berglund or Oshie though. I see them all around 60-70 point guys.

I'm going to bed, finally. But I just wanted to give props again to our #1 star today (IMO)...

Mr. Paul Mara.

The rest of the team was pretty awesome too.

Our defense looks so much better without Picard, Weber looked solid again and really like what Mara brings to our D.

Your post makes no sense for what we are talking about. Unless you're saying you don't want Eller and would of preferred a guy like D.J. King - then I'll just say you're nuts.

Don't look now, but Moen is on fire

Habs are within lethal striking distance of at least 3 teams ahead of them. One slip by any of those teams could mean home ice advantage for round one of the playoffs. Tampa and Boston slipping lately. I'm guessing the Habs could be in 3rd or 4th spot by end of next week. Just keep racking up the points.

I just thought you meant the Blues didn't mind moving Eller.

I expected the Blues to be in the POs without a doubt this year. It's unfortunate they had so many injuries, including to Halak.

No, no. I'm sure they would of rather got Halak for McClement or something.

Yeah, their defense was down to 2 regular's at one point. Ouch. And they don't have the veteran's up front that we do (or on the backend of that matter) to keep the young guys cool. They have such a young team.

I think McDonald was hurt for quite awhile too. That'd be like us missing Plekanec which I can't even imagine.

I can't wait for Eller to fully develop. The flashes of his upside is very exciting to watch.

I'd get him and Pouliot a personal trainer and tell them to focus on lower body strength in the offseason. They can be very good players if they get stronger on their skates.

Good idea on firing it up for the playoffs. Someone will probably have to recode it. If it can be done having a moving image like that as your avatar.

People need to start giving Gauthier credit for his vision...

As for Eller, this guy is a prototypical Jacques Martin center, he's GREAT in his own zone, he's always coming back to help his defensman to move the puck out of the zone, just like Plekanec. He's very disciplined and is consistent in his performances game in/ game out.

He still needs to get stronger both in his upper and lower body, but I can't wait to see where he'll be as a player even 1 year from now.

Also...I can't reiterate how happy I am the Habs didn't bring back Alex Komalev like so many here wanted.

what a floater!
