They keep sending them down the pipe on MOJO. Apparently Nonis wants to trade up to #2 to get Brule. They played an interview with Brule and he claims to be extatic if selected by the Canucks. Change of heart? We'll see.. I have a feeling this could be very true.
Nonis is on MOJO right now, and he just said that even though he is definitely interested in moving up, and has made offers, he does not see the Canucks drafting at #2. He seemed to be saying the price would be too high, and he said that the guys who have been in the rumours going the other way (Jovo and Ohlund) have not been offered in any deal and will not be offered. He said they both will be playing for the Canucks this season.
How could a legitimate sports journalist fish a rumour off of the Canucks.com messageboard, which is a festering pit of high school children mouthing off at eachother and talking about how hot Cloutier is.
"Like omg. Cloutier deserves a big raise cause he is like, so hot."
No legitimate piece of sports information has ever been broken or swapped on that messageboard.
That would be an awful trade. If we did get the #2 pick, picking Brule there would be a big mistake. I would rather draft Johnson, Kopitar or Ryan there.
I'd say Brule is the fourth or fifth best prospect. I would rather have Johnson or Pouliot instead of him, but I would take him over Ryan and probably Kopitar.
The people on MOJO and the TEAM are not hockey experts. They know little or nothing about hockey, they don't do background checks on rumors, they don't discover any new stories, they are just there to fill time.
This isn't a knock on any of them, as we are pretty fortunate in Vancouver to have a few good broadcasters and a choice when it comes to sports radio. Just don't trust ANYTHING they say.
