That first goal was so brilliant, cycle, work, cycle work, with the puck. Wow - favorite goal of the year. That is how to play baby!

PS San Jose = worst announcing team I have heard this year so far.

Ut-oh Lundqvist is getting some grey in his beard from playing behind this team.

Hey Dick, how many points did we get?

DAMN SKIPPY

The Good: 2 points

The Bad: A stressful 2 points, but that doesn't matter now.

The Gilroy: The officiating

My 3 stars:

a) Somebody in the GDT called a 3-2 shootout win. I forgot who.

b) Thank god Dubinsky has a brain and took a SHOT on Niemi in the shootout. The guy hulks over and makes himself tiny with tons of holes until you make a move then he sprawls out at you. Take a ****ing shot. Callahan's seriously gotta work on a different move or just TAKE A SHOT in the shootout. That's peewee ****, Cally. I can't believe he keeps trying that move even though he fails miserably every time. Enough, man. (And I'm a huge Cally fan but that really irritates me.) You're a professional hockey player. How do you not see what we're seeing? The guy is giving up five hole and both sides until you make a move. Take a shot. Dubinsky made it looks easy as it SHOULD be when a goalie is playing that way. Same with Anisimov's crap move. Stickhandle yourself to no angle and try to tuck it in on the ice. Awful. Embarrassingly bad. Thank god Dubinsky shot it and scored, because I would've been so irate if we lost because of Cally and Anisimov's weak Jokinen-esque moves after Henke carried them on his back and made some amazing saves in the shootout.

edit:

c) How many clutch and grab penalties were ignored against the Sharks tonight? Staal alone should've drawn 4-5 hooking / holding penalties. Tori Mitchell was grabbing and tripping guys with his legs all night long. It was a very poorly officiated game, but what else is new? Ahh, the "new" NHL.

Dubi continuing his strong play. But I have to go with Henrik tonight.

Edit: Forgot Sauer. Along with that goal and holding off some of them big Sharks, he did some good things carrying the puck out tonight too

huge 2 points, a great respsonse to our last game...it was great to get just one point against such a talented and high in the standings team, but 2 points phenomenal, good game to build off of and gain more confidence! need to follow this game up with another big game performance against the isles that have been playing well lately.

Back in 7th place, 4 points ahead of canes and canes only have 1 game in hand...and 2 points ahead of buffalo and they have 2 games in hand...and we do need to watch out of toronto, atlanta, and jersey...they are close...but we need to play our game confident and hard fought and hard working

Quietly very good tonight. When you don't notice Girardi, that's usually good.

I was surprised Anisimov shot as Prospal was very good for us last year in the shootout and he usually shoots the puck instead of going for a move.

Also I take back scratching W2 as he had a huge goal when it looked like we would lose, props to W2, Dubi, Sauer, EC, and mostly HANK!

Henke was magnificent, Sauer was a stud, and Dubi was strong. He is such a monster with the puck around the boards. He even fended off a bigger player in Thornton.

POTG: Lundquist
The good: We exploited our opportunities for a change and came away with 2 big points. Our defense was pretty solid.
The bad: Zuccarello only getting 8 min of ice-time. Playing scared in the third period. Didn't keep possession of the puck very well.
The redden: The refs and bounces, as usual.

Girardi came back with a great effort tonight. Staal got jobbed numerous times by the refs. He must be wondering what the hell.

Hank as POTG, no contest. Great game from all our guys, even though a certain guy seemed to have a bit of a problem staying on his feet at times..

What a game though, was thinking i was going to need heart surgury there for a while!
