Anyone know why he dropped the "s"?

Didn't want to be mistaken for a Swede perhaps?

Maybe he got tired of having to explain that his last name has 2 S's to bewildered North American anglophones.

"You mean your name isn't John Smith or Robert Johnson? I have no idea how to spell or pronounce your name, you'll have to spend the next 15 minutes explaining it to me."

If you follow my first link above (autograph-cards), and click on the 3rd card down, you can see he wore "Andersson" on a Chicago jersey.

I thought of this as I remembered him being Andersson while in the OHL with Guelph.

Like danishh showed, Anderson really only had 1 "S" but he added the extra "S" because he wanted to be Swedish-like.

Wow that is strange. He's just like Ochocinco but he backed down on legally changing his name.

What do you suppose is the drop dead date for Andersson to commit to the Sens?
Everyone has discussed how PO'd they'd be if he won all these games and left, so do you think the sens have a certain number of games left before they decide to sit him or will they play it out until the end and see what happens.

Surely he can let them know what his plans are, or are we just his salary inflators.
He was looking at maybe $2 million before he came here, and has now probably boosted his earnng power by at least 1.5 per year.

You think the sens will force the issue at some point?

I don't think the two sides have even sat down to talk yet. When they do I'm sure that price would be too much of an issue, 3.5ish is probably something the organization can live with. I think term will be the issue.

I don't think management thinks like the fans do. There is no drop dead date and they aren't going to sit a guy who is playing well to purposely lose games.
