This is part of the reason I don't like bashing Poni...he seems to always "bring it" and even when he takes stupid penalties its more cause he was trying to hard. Not cause he was lazy like a lot of peoples penalties.

Or in giving him a little rest heading into the playoffs. Seriously, some of you believe the effort isn't there with this guy? You have got to be kidding.

We'll see a vet or two have "maintenance days" over the final week or so of the regular season.

Handzus getting his 10th gives the Kings 8 with 10+ goals.

Did anybody else see that giant thread on the Oilers' board hoping that we fail? Hilarious.

Didn't see the thread, but we did trade em a draft pick that is tied to our success or lack thereof, so I don't blame them!

Yep.

Much like we did with Dallas a few years ago. Don't think we had a thread for it, but we all had the thought.

I'm all for the Kings giving them a second round pick next year.

Since they started this thread (‘Down with the Kings’) three of their players got injured including Hemsky and Hall.

Ironman Kopitar tied LA Kings record for most consecutive games (324), set by Marcel Dionne. So, next game is the first with Kopitar signature under one of the Kings records. Lets hope its one out of many .

That's so great haha! I think it's a really creative name too.

Plus I was doing a bit of daydreaming at the gym today and came up with my realistic and unrealistic lineup for next year and I got.....

Unrealistic

* We trade Smyth and Stoll back to the Oilers for Cogliano and a first
* We sign Brad Richards

Brown - Richards - Williams (move Brown to LW)
Penner - Kopi - Moller (Moller would mesh well with two big guys)
Clifford - Schenn - Simmonds (I thought about having Lokti as the center, but Schenn fits there better)
Richardson - Lewis - Cogliano (A speedy, gritty line)

And then we win lol?

Reality

Penner - Kopi - Williams
Brown - Schenn/Lokti - Moller (bumped Schenn/Lokti up cuz they aren't ready to handle 3rd line role)
Smyth - Stoll - Simmonds (bumped Stoll down because these are going to be tougher minutes)
Clifford - Lewis - Richardson

I actually love both lineups just hopefully TM loosens up the system heading into next year.

Stars suck. How are they still hanging around the top of the West?

Oiler fans are cool for the most part. Lord knows we all know what they are going through. Been there, done that... won't be doing it again for a very long time.

Oh for **** sakes....

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=555950

"Just 22 seconds after Jamie Langenbrunner had erased the Kings' 2-1 lead, Handzus beat Jonathan Quick at 19:39 of the third period in a wild 3-2 victory against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center. "

I really like Poni's game and think his offensive production will pickup next season.. I wouldn't mind resigning him for about half of what hes making now and I think that could be a realistic possibility.

Like Zus mentioned in his post game interview, Poni's injury made him have a rough first half and it's taken him a bit to finally get his groove back. I think if he continues to work his ass off throughout the playoffs, we may end up re-signing him.
