Clearly, this is a guy we should seriously consider trading.
Erat has been pretty great all year, If you take out the couple of games he struggled after each injury, he's been tremendous. I don't want to start another argument, but Legwand has been been pretty darn good this year as well...

P.S. Can we have Suter? haha
Colorado owned the 2nd period, just wouldn't go away. Once all the young guys mature a bit and they get the goalie situation figured out, they'll be a force for sure.

Wasn't able to see the game but a good win and two points.

Anyone have any video from the Tootoo fight?

Just want to thank Toots for bringing the fight over from across the ice to right in front of me Good solid fight from both guys.

Halishuck smart to play the puck easy on his goal instead of taking a frantically-too-hard chop or slap shot.

Ward breaks his stick, the goes back to the bench "Quick, gimme a stick, I gotta go score...NOW!

Fisher is crushing finger grooves into his stick, he needs to loosen up and play a little cooler instead of ever-more-clenched-up.

Need to keep up the immediate goal pressure in the next several games: get at least 2, better with 3, on the Kings in the first next Tuesday.

P.S. Props to Erat for busting ass to get us some frosties at the last second, literally!

I think some broad named wendy must have done marty wrong at some point. alot of hustle unless he is trying to take the role of empty net specialist from leggy.

Horny should get an assist on this goal, too. He's standing in front on the play and one of the dmen is bashing on him, when the shot goes the other dman comes across to cross-check him to clear the crease leaving the backside wide open for Halischuck cause 2 guys all worried bout Horny.

Well, that wasn't a pretty win, but 2 points is 2 points. Something about this Erat-Legwand-Ward line is working.

I hope these 3 can keep it up, I may bash on Legs alot, but I will say I have been very impressed with him the last month or so. It seems that he may have finally turned the proverbial corner as far as his offensive thinking goes.

Where did you go Mike Fisher?

Seriously.. I didn't even notice you on the ice last night.

Pekka got beat on 2 plays that shouldn't have happened. I blame the 5 man unit on the first goal by not being able to clear the puck, and Suter with a failed handpass clear to I can't remember that resulted in a turnover and a redirection in front.

Ward with his once a year highlight goal.

God, Franson is SLOW. I dread him being the last line of defense whenever someone with speed is out on the PK for the opposition.

Tootoo with a solid game, maybe his best since he's been back.

Lindback wore his hat well.

Not sure how O'Brien ended up in the box with Winnik. I was on the far end of the ice and it appeared to me that Winnik cross checked Pekka who was down on the ice covering the puck. I thought for sure we were going on the PP there.

Foote was giving SOB hell it appeared from the bench after a scrum in front of Peks in the 2nd. It appeared he gave him the ol pinky and thumb tip the bottle motion.

Ow, damn, you know KNOW Tootoo don't pull punches and the fact is, he looked pretty damned happy after the fight.

he didnt see the ice after he gave up the puck and then drifted aimlessly into the crease and screened Pekka on the second Avs goal.

Im wondering if there is any chance Wilson gets a game or two in the pressbox and JP gets back in? Wilosn seems to be getting worse instead of better.

can anyone confirm that Geoffrion didnt get much if any ice time in the third? or did I just not see him? I really only started noticing with about 7 or 8 minutes to go

Can't confirm or deny but I don't remember Bam Bam in the third at all.

Wilson lost the puck to Eric Johnson ( which was his man), but stayed with him and had him completely "under check", not in front of Pekka, but at the side of the goal. The shot was going wide, and bad luck, it hit Wilson shin pad and went in.

if the 4th line skated in the 3rd it wasn't more than a shift.... not sure that was necessarily Trotz plan, but we had one PK and 3 PP in there, so lotta' special teams time - we know how Trotz strategy works there - Smitty after every PP and Fisher after the PK. Leggy's line logged extra heavy minutes, too.

As for our power forward Colin - I can live with his occasional fantasies of being Sully rather than Hartnell, but his D can be really atrocious at times - can't be losing focus like he does too often.

I was thinking I saw Tootoo several times but not 33 or 5.

Probably just Trotz shortening the bench in a tight game.

geoffrion had more jumbotron time than ice time in the third.
wilson had the one shift at the end of the game i talked about...all 2 seconds worth.

we talk about franson being protected...less than 13 minutes ice time in the game, 2:27 in the second period...

Never Wilson's fault, is it?
