To save cap space, or are Carkner and Alfie/Michalek set to return? Bingo doesn't play til Wed.

Presume Carkner is ready to go, Alfie back? I think we only have one more call up left out of the 4 allowed.

So is Carkner recovered yet? Or do we double shift EK? Or do we get David Rundblad to parachute into the arena next game?

No way Carkner can be ready, didn't he just have surgery last week? Or am I mistaken?

It was indicated post game that there were still players that were coming up for a look-see. I assume Wiercioch or Gryba on D. Smith was quite good in his time up.

Maybe Alfie is back, or maybe we get a look at Wick again or Dziurzynski/Daugavins for a game or two.

Potulny is on the Clear List I think, so needs to find some chemistry down there.

Well they did say 1 or 2 weeks and it has been about a week. Maybe he heals fast.

As for the forward Alfie is the only one that could be back and I am not sure I like the idea of him back so soon, backs are a very difficult thing to fix.

That was a lot of backs

The issue with sending up new call ups is we only have 1 left all season. Out side of that only injury will allow us a call up.

Unless i am mistaken but Murray said he used 3 already because of trades.

We should trade for backes, backlund, backlund, backman, backstrom, and backstrom.

we have injuries that are keeping us from icing a full line up, so they are emergency call ups.

This.

We must have a full roster before the call ups start counting as one of the non-emergency call ups.

Unless you're seeing healthy scratches hanging out in the press box, then we're not using up our callups...And i haven't seen too many healthy scratches hanging around lately.

Is there a limit to how many backs we can trade for? Surely they can use the emergency callup with so many guys injured? Don't call me Shirley.

With that rule can you change who the call up is? I was under the impression the emergency call up has to remain during the injury but i am likely wrong.

Doesn't really specify that it can only be one player. Just that you have to send them back as seoon as the emergency is over.

Code:
 (l) Emergency Recall.

                  (i) A player on loan to a Club of any
league affiliated with the League may be recalled from such loan
under emergency conditions at any time for the duration of the
emergency only following which he must be returned promptly to
the club from which he was recalled.

                 (ii) Emergency conditions shall be
established when the playing strength of the loaning Club, by
reason of incapacitating injury or illness or by League
suspension to its players is reduced below the level of two (2)
goalkeepers, six (6) defensemen and twelve (12) forwards. Proof
of the existence of the emergency conditions including the
incapacity shall be furnished to the Commissioner of the League
upon request made by him.

(iii) For the purpose of establishing the
existence of emergency conditions at any time, to support the
recall of a player or goalkeeper for participation in any
playoff game, it shall be deemed that the player(s) on loan
following noon of the twenty-sixth (26th) day immediately
preceding the last day of the regular season are continuing on
loan for the remainder of the season notwithstanding that the
loaned club(s) may have been eliminated from further play for the
season.

I haven't heard of a rule where the call up can't be switched up...But that's not to say it doesn't exist.

That being said, im 75%+ sure that you can switch up the call up. Example, like send down d.smith to bring up gryba/weircioch. I also wouldn't be surprised at all if you can't.

Anyone know?

Edit: you're allowed according to post above me.

Carkner is not returning. That kind of surgery is 2 weeks minimum and it has only been 1 week. Plus, the club indicated that it would be more like 4 weeks.

But, Matt Carkner is a HOCKEY PLAYER...

so he's exempt from this

I didn't know about this call-up rule, but I guess its a non-factor.

I can't believe that Potulny got sent down on the same day that I got a call back from Sensations saying my Potulny jersey is ready to be picked up. Life ain't fair...

Why get a Potulny jersey... Odds are against him from getting re-signed by the Sens from what I see on the ice...
