I'll tell you what, 8-6-1 doesn't really spark a whole lot of confidence in me. Not that the Kings couldn't do that, but that it might take more. But, AY AY AY! nervous time.

Updated post #1 with tonight's results.

Los Angeles Kings Playoff Chances
Beat Blue Jackets 4-2, playoff odds up 5.2 to 87%
81 points 38-25-5

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/W...fic/Kings.html

7-6-1 will be good for 96 points which should assure a playoff spot.

We've also now tied Phoenix with ROW's so head to head record would be the next tiebreaker. We need to win the next game with them to be tied in that category as well, then it would fall to goal differential, which the Kings would win.

That would be insane and epitomize how crazy the west is, if it came down to that.

These regulation wins are doing great things for our ROW number too, got a feeling that's going to matter in the end.

Could prove costly for teams like Nashville and Calgary. They may need 97 or 98 to get in because of said tiebreaker.

Updated post #1 for tonight. Colorado is on life support. Kings can pull the plug on them with a point or two tomorrow.

Calgary will likely have pulled the plug on them before the Kings hit the ice.

I can remember, no more than two weeks ago, watching Kings game and the standings at the same time. Hoping not just for Kings wins but also for other team losses. Now the other teams don't matter in the slightest. If the Kings keep winning the will be in third. No other teams have to lose the Kings just need to keep winning. I like that. The Kings control their own destiny.
