No they aren't. Their future looks promising but Pap probably isnt part of that future. Despite 45 points there are quite few people on Isles board that are sick and tired of him. The guy is a turnover machine.
I could care less whether PAP is or is not part of the Isles' future...but I find the idea that what people on the Isles board think about this is in any way relevant to whether PAP stays or goes kind of funny...you're not seriously suggesting that the management and coaching staff of the Isles are going to look the postings on an internet message board for guidance on whether to keep PAP, are you?
His 45 pts will count in his favour, his turnovers will count against him...and the opinions expressed on HFBoards won't count at all...
Good move by Torts. Christensen works better with Gabby & has 4 goals, 7 points in his last 6 games played.
Problem is, a guy with Wolski's skill can eat up the Islanders defense, not saying Christensen hasn't earned it, but would have rather seen someone else sit

he is just a stopgap player. next year he will likely play with JT and MM because he does have good chemistry with them, hence his TOI and 45 points. next year nino niedereitter will likely find himself on the third line with comeau and bailey. after next year, take out parenteau, push up okposo and niedereitter.
simple as that. parenteau isnt a first liner. he can put up points, im thankful for that, but he makes nauseating plays sometimes. ill give him props, he has been much better since his first 2 months but the point stands that he is a stop gap player right now.

Yeah no ****.
All I'm trying to prove to the other poster is that those 45 points are deceiving. Classic example of a poor player putting up points on a team that lacks talent.
So yet again I'm considering staying up watching the game tonight. For a poor European the puck drops at 01:00 CET, and I got to get up for work at 07:00... Been surviving loads of games like that all season long... And damn if I go for this tonight and head to bed at 03:30 WITH A LOSS... I will not be easily dealt with tomorrow at work!!!!!!
Let's pull of a two pointer! Nothing else is acceptable despite the Island girls playing kind of decent lately...

I agree PAP is not a real bonafide first liner . He can shoot the puck and plays well on the PP and is a good passer . As for defense and skating he is not all that great . My point is he can hit open nets something a lot of our players can't do . It doesn't seem to bother or hinder MM or JT who are legit first liners at all . We have no one on our team with the offensive ability near Tavares and the finishing ability of Moulson . We rage over our core , I'll take the Piles core over ours any day because they have Tavares . As for their young D ours is more solid defensively but theirs can generate offense and shoot the puck something NONE of our D Men can do at all .I'll stand by my OP , if the Isles go out an get a few UFA vets they will leap frog us in talent and ability simply because they can score and play the system Torts wishes he could , not the system we are playing now that is killing our players with injuries . The isles can skate and shoot something no one in our illustrious core excels at .
i dont think anyone on the planet thinks that dude is a real 1st liner
He got an extension last month, so he's not that much of a stop-gap.
Whether or not he's a first liner really depends on what team you're talking about. On the Islander OR Rangers, unfortunately, yes, he's a first liner.

So you're saying he's a better RW option than Gaborik or Callahan, basically?
At the same time, I hate DVRing games because I'm always tempted to check the score before I get a chance to watch the game.
Same here. I love the 10:30PM starts though cause I work all week from 5-10PM so I always miss the games during the week. Always end up checking the score before I watch the game, eh.
Anyway, lets go Rangers. We need a big win here. Checking the Isles board, people want this to be similiar to the Penguins game without the misconducts. Ah, I hope the Rangers destroy them.
Everyone hates him because he'll have a great 2 or 3 games and than disappear for the next 10-15. Extremely frustrating with the amount of talent he has.
Which is no different than Wolski, really.
Avery should be sitting, in my opinion.

Why is Wolski being scratched? He's a key offensive weapon.
Because the coach is trying to send a message that his last couple efforts havent been good enough, and I agree with him.
Wolski seemed to respond to Tortorellas "talk" a few weeks ago with a nice week or so of play. Then things took a dip. Its not a mystery what Torts wants from him. Hes a skilled player and hes needs him doing certain things out there. It hasnt been there lately so Torts is calling him out and sitting him down to see how he reacts. I dont blame him.
I'm hoping hell be back against Montreal, because theyll need his skillset. This is how Torts operates, and certain guys react to it. Wolski reacted well the first time, so maybe John is onto something that will benefit the team the last 10-11 games.
I thought Wolski was one of the better forwards in the Ducks game, his line was going. Then Torts took his line off the ice after forcing the Ducks to ice the puck. Wolski yelled something out and was visibly pissed that Torts yanked them. I think that has something to do with it.
