So watching the SJ/Chitaco game last night, they gave serious praise to our franchise. They were talking about all the teams in the playoff hunt, mentioned we have a favorable schedule and said we could be a team to be reckoned with. The big thing they mentioned was our defensive prospects. They talked about Blum and how well he's done already and then went on to talk about Ellis and all of his accomplishments in his young career. They said all this kid knows how to do is win. They then compared him to Dan Boyle and the similarity in their games. They never made mention of his size or Blum's size in the discussion, just talking about their skills and how well Poile and Fenton have done at drafting some of the guys we've landed over the years. Really nice to hear.
If Ellis turns out anything like Boyle we're going to be very blessed on the blue line.
But really, if Ellis pans out he is going to be a phenomenal player, as well as Blum who will be a solid 2 way defenseman with that extra offense to his game.
