The Kings are 16-4-4 since I moved to Vegas. I'm going home for about 12 days for spring break. A little bit nervous.
LOL at hockey fan superstitions. Don't blame you though. When I get home from work the shirt I change into seems to be the determining factor in whether they win or lose. It's wierd!

Nope, more than that. That's what always makes the decision more difficult! Some are winners, some are losers. I need to start a spreadsheet to track them better as the playoffs approach.
Did Murray make a subtle change to his system? Doughty, Martinez and Johnson have been way more active in the offensive zone, not being afraid to bring the puck below the circles. Ealier in the season they would hardly go more than a foot inside the blue line.
I think it's been a huge change for the positive side as it's keeping teams pinned more in the offensive zone. Not all of them are leading to scoring chances, but Martinez was part of a 2 on 1 which resulted in a goal last night which wouldn't have happened earlier in the season.
Fun fact for tonight that old timers will appreciate:
"In 1977 the Kings won four straight road games, and it would have counted as a 4-0 road trip, but a reschedule of a game that was snowed out (vs. Buffalo) was tacked on as the (5th) game of the trip. It was also the third game the Kings played in three nights, and Buffalo won, 7-2."
Classic, and if Phoenix ends up moving to Winnipeg were going to have the Rockies I mean the Avalanche back too.

I actually see it as more than subtle. The defensemen are pinching more as well and it seems that more and more the team is seeking to carry the puck in, with predictably good results. The defense first concept is very well engrained in the team so an occasional lapse or odd man rush is now covered by a determined back checking forward.
I believe Zad's entry tracking system utilized during our previous slump was picked up on by team management and the message got through!
It is nice to see the team playing up to potential. With the power play starting to chip in, the special teams are looking pretty dominant. Will be big in the playoffs.

Old school coach. Teaches repitition, rep's, reps's. For 3/4's of the season they learn team defense and shut down hockey on the "right" side of the puck. Now it is instinctive and the whole team is making better reads which actually improves offensive positioning and attack. It's good. Nice to see it come together. Don't underestimate the addition of Penner. That completely changes an opponents defensive scheme against the Kings. And opens up the other lines as well.
Still have to get in playoffs.... but it's a fun ride!
Oh I am dreading going to China 4/8 - 4/23 Hopefully Kings can get through the first round. I would be pissed to watch this team for 82 games then miss the playoffs!
I hate the Blues, they've been owning us this year. I don't think we've even beaten them.
The Kings are 0-3 against the Blues. I live in St Louis and the day of the game I would wear my Kings jersey to my sons hockey practice. They next day those little brats would give me all kinds of grief.
Even though the season is over I would love those boys to know, coach’s team beat the Blues on the way to the playoffs.
– The Kings won their 40th game of the season and have recorded back-to-back 40-win seasons for the first time in franchise history. This is the eighth 40-win season in franchise history.
– The Kings have won five consecutive road games and have an 11-1-3 record in their last 15 road games.

Amazing, considering Terry Murray can't coach and Dustin Brown is a terrible captain.
