Bud Holloway

Just wondering what you guys think about Holloway and whether or not he's got a shot at an NHL career?

I don't see him being good enough for a top six role or gritty enough for a bottom six one. Good all round player but will probably have trouble finding a role in the NHL, making him unlikely to make it in my opinion. He has quite a few fans around here though so I might be in a minority.

Bud Holloway and Robbie Czarnik look like good candidates for bottom 6 roles, although Holloway knows how to put the puck in the net.

He has the skill to play in the NHL whether or not he makes it with us is a better question. Jared Smithson and Jon Sim had similar games and are both NHL regulars.

I can see BH getting picked up by a team in need and making it.

Thought he got a long look at camp and did pretty good. He has a nose for the back of the net and we don't have to many prospects like that. (as far as being able to score)Id keep him over Moller. If we end up letting him go we will regret it. I was hoping for a call up this year but in a tight race for the playoffs just don't see it happening. He could be a 20+goal scorer in the NHL if given a chance which means a full year to play and adapt to the NHL- ala Purcell and Moulson. Will he get that shot on our team is the ?

Bud strikes me a Rich Peverely-type. Not big, not fast, not really all that impressive but he can get the job done if he's given the chance.

With the exception that MM has a nice turn of speed and BH plays with some grit.

Bud plays in NHL some day soon but not with the Kings. I would say it would be in Buds best interest not to resign with the Kings and try to go with a team that has a little room.Im sure alot of the Kings prospects can figure this out.Just my take.

I only want to nit pick here about Peverly not being fast. That guy has wheels and is the second faster skater on the Bruins behind only Daniel Paille.

No, because there aren't very many star players named "Bud" but it would be funny though.

Like to see the Kings keep both Moller and Holloway and put them on our third, fourth lines respectively. And after Smyth retires,Brown can move to 2nd line LW,Moller to 2nd line RW. I like Holloway fine but it seems we have a lot of forwards. Not sure why you like Holloway over Moller...Explain your thinking?

Ya always have that one player ya root for and he is mine. Just think he is bigger and plays harder on the puck and can score. Moller just is little. We have a lot of little players and only a few will make it. Moller seems to get bounced of the puck a lot. He does have heart and hustle but you have to have that with his size. I worry about Moller playing a hole season at this level. Other little players are Kozun, Loktionov, Moller, Weal. They all cant play. Don't get me wrong I like him, just feel Holloway brings what Moller does with just more size. Moller and Loki are small, can they play with out getting killed. Guess that's the big question for me.

I've seen him play in Ontario a few times and he's got no skating issues as far as I could tell. I think he's going to be a great pro someday.
