yeesh, the centre position looks incredibly grim... and there's no way around it
it is what it is. This is another one of those years that a team needs to really devellop it's players.
Like I said before, at least this shows the brass what kind of depth there is in the team and help them showcase the youth for making a trade or two to bring in that gritty talented player they need to round out the top 6 (even with Patches healthy and back in the lineup)
EDIT: I do see Eller as a Plekanec type (but with more size) in a year or two

Personally I think Eller will be better than Plekanec. There is just something about that kid...
I really hope we get to see Cammalleri-Plekanec-Palushaj. IMO, there's a pretty big possibility that the line could be seen on a regular basis next season as we all know Halpern wil not resign.
I agree. Without key injuries this year we may never had seen Weber, Pacioretty, Desharnais. Especially Desharnais, because we may never had seen him EVER on this club if it was due to extraordinary circumstances. I liked what i saw from Palushaj in training camp, and i look forward to seeing how he does. With the way Washington is coming together, I don't think it makes a big difference if we play Philly, Boston or Washington. 3rd, 4th or 5th would be best, but if we lose out there, i don't think it makes much difference if we finish 6th, 7th or 8th--and with all these injuries that's where we look like we're heading.
Don't forget PK. We'd be a lot better off if Gorges were still playing but the one positive is that it took the threat of pressbox time away from Subban. You remember how tentative he was when he came back after being scratched? When Gorges went down and it was clear Subban was in the lineup for good, he went back to the confident style of play he needs to be successful.
I still think the team should resign a bunch of D for next year and let Weber go for another half season in the AHL but I agree that an extended taste of the NHL has helped him a lot.
AK - Eller - Cammy
Dawes - Gomez - Gionta
Pouliot - DD - Palushaj
Moen - Pyatt - White
Switch Moen and Palushaj if you need more of a defensive presence on the third line. Also I would love to see Cammy on the Eller - AK line. Those two get crazy pressure and with a finisher like Cammy they would be lethal.

Sometime bad things happen but in the end it might turn in something positive.. As far as I know we are not in danger to miss the playoffs, so even if we lose a couple it doesnt really matter, some players will have the opportunity to play more while some kids will have the opportunity to show they belong to the NHL, it will be the perfect opportunity to see what guys like Pouliot Desharnais Weber have to offer in different situations, so what really matters IMO is to have Plekanec Halpern and Sopel healthy and rested for the playoffs, hopefully both Palushaj and Dawes do well and push some other guys to bring their game at another level making it hard for the management to send them back in the minors.. Quality depth should never be underrated and I think this is what we have..

I don't see Dawes playing on a fourth line, the guy have a skillset and JM will probably put him in an offensive role. He would play with the 2 biggest foward we have, and they're on fire. We pray for the second line. I think the third is intriguing, plus Cammy would play against weaker opposition. Give him PP and PK to make him happy.
