My hope is that we make it to the final game of the season with our seeding locked up. If the playoffs are on the line that final game, I hope it's only from the Devils' perspective.

I agree, I really don't want our season to come down to the last game of the year against the hottest team in the NHL since January. We have some tough games ahead and some games that if they play like they are capable they should win if they show up for a full 60 minutes. Lets hope this team is getting hot at the right time, winning 4 of the last 5 is definitely getting on the right track. Lets just get a win vs the Habs on Friday for now!

If the Habs lose on Thursday and we beat them on Friday I think it's time to start looking at the 6th seed.

Granted I doubt the Habs lose 2 in a row like that...they'll either beat TB, beat us, or beat both.

I wonder if Plekanec and Halpern will both miss the Tampa game and be ready for the Ranger game? We will have to see, but the Habs are banged up and this is a team the Rangers can play with and beat if they play smart and continue to score on the PP.

I've always felt that players should try that shot more often. I know you have to be very skilled to hit a spot like that on your backhand but goalies are never prepared for that shot in that situation.

1st line talent. You can put him with scrubs and he'll still produce.

It's a joke. Blatant headshot, it doesnt get more blatant than that. Should've got 5 games I reckon.

2 funny things that I couldnt help but giggle at:

1. There is a thread on main boards asking who is the cleanest team in hockey. Well those people that answered Sharks must feel bad right now.
2. Steve Ott saying something along the lines that we need to protect players and blah, blah. Yeah Stevie boy you are not exactly a saint yourself.

Looks like Alex Auld is playing on Friday

Quote:
Tampa is the first of a back-to-back series. The Canadiens are in New York Friday night to play the Rangers and Martin said he would probably start backup goaltender Alex Auld in one of those games. Look for Carey Price against Tampa and Auld in New York. Auld has a 4-0-2 record against the Rangers with an 0.98 goals-against average.

Rangers have zero excuses if they don't get 2 points on Friday night. Montreal is playing on Thursday night. Friday will be their 3rd game in 4 nights. Rangers will have had 2 days off. They didn't practice today. Practice tomorrow. Optional skate on Friday morning. Back-up goalie for Montreal.

NO EXCUSES

well he is a former Ranger and its a backup. what do you think will happen???

i want them to win but this has 2-0 shutout all over it. im guessing rangers will have 40 shots on net and habs will get only 20 and win.

Some fantastic goaltending going on in the St. Louis-Anaheim tilt. There was a minute-and-a-half sequence where Halak stood on his head multiple times to keep the game 1-1. Emery has been great in net for the Ducks, too.

The thing thats scaring me with the Devils isn't just that they are winning so much, it's that they seemingly aren't giving up goals. When's the last time someone scored 4 or more against them?

I have flashbacks to the pre-lockout Devils whenever I turn on their games. Everyone that remembers those teams knows that's a scary thing.

Anyone know the answer before I don't order it. I would prefer to save the 60 bucks on it.

It's true. They refuse to give up goals, especially in the first. They get a lead on you, and it's almost impossible to come back.

Bobby Ryan nearly decapitated Jaro Halak. Long slapper that hit Halak right square in the mask. That kid is insane. He's going to become a perennial 40-goal guy in the league.

Cam Fowler, on the other hand, is such a wuss. Gets laid out after the whistle by a Blues player, and responds by getting up, staring straight down, and skating away.

I think we might be safe for this one, Dawes only shows up against the Devils. I can't guarantee any other players won't get their first career goal though.

Probably the Devs. Still have a game against us with games in hand and are practically unstoppable. Canes seem to be fading.

The Canucks announcers just went off on a tangent on how Henrik Sedin is so great because he scored an empty netter from his own zone.

What part of "Auld has a 4-0-2 record against the Rangers with an 0.98 goals-against average" did you miss? lol
