If we want to finish 5th it's a must win game... I think it's a big game for the Habs.

Yeah and then next year it'll be Price gets injured and somehow Auld is keeping us in the race, and people will give all the credit to Auld for somehow playing above his own level all of the sudden.

Seriously though I wouldn't be surprised. Then the analysts from around the NHL are going to say that Montreal is a product of Alex Auld's solid play rather than the other way around.

Nothing official yet, this is all I found on RDS

Les deux derniers joueurs qui sont tombés au combat, mardi, Tomas Plekanec et Jeff Halpern, pourraient devoir s'absenter contre le Lightning de Tampa Bay, jeudi.

No and the three Habs d-men in the NHL top 20 for blocked shots the last two years deserve no credit for the team's success all of which the Habs stand to lose next year. Nor does Plekanec. Nor does Martin or the team's defensive system. It's all Carey Price and the Habs would be better off leaving him on the ice by himself.
<end of sarcasm>

Don't want to discredit Price in any way whatsover. He's been absolutely stellar but the other guys do deserve credit for playing as a team at least a little bit. LOL

It's nothing new...

It was the same with Hackett, with Theodore, with Halak and now with Price.

Habs never had any real offensive threat since the mid 90's (Turgeon and Damphousse) and their D was usually ordinary and underestimated, the only thing that made us make the playoffs regularly and win a few rounds here and there was goaltending.

At some point, these experts need to chuck their egos out the door and admit that they underestimate this hockey club instead of looking for weak crutches time after time.
a lot of this teams success has to do with, brace yourselves, Jacques Martin. Say what you want, but hes a damn good coach and he is the reason why the habs are still in contention, injury after injury after injury. Hes the first experienced coach we ve had in like what 20 years?? and it shows.

same here, problem is we lose tonight and lose Friday all of a sudden teams behind are going to start passing us. I'd like to face the Bruins, so hopefully we can stay in 6th if of course 3-4-5 is out of reach and assuming the bruins stay 3rd

I don't mind playing the Bruins but I would rather face Pittsburgh.

Plus 3rd is still in reach.

On the other hand, I'm intrigued to see what Dawes can do. I saw Palushaj in the exhibition and I fear he is a hard worker with great speed but no finish. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Crosby hasn't played in over two months and will likely be out for over a total of three months. I'm not too concerned about him right now and they beat him last year anyway.

I just think we match up better in a 7 game series with the Penguins as opposed to the Bruins.

Not to mention we'll come out of that series with more healthy players than in the Bruins series. I know the Bruins will try to win in the alley if they can't win on the ice. It has become this organization's M.O.

Pretty much. It's not that I don't think we couldn't beat the Bruins it's just this team is already beat up and what the hell would be left after a series against Boston?

I don't think it will take him long to get back in tip top shape. I still think they are a much different team from last year with Martin and Michalek on the back end. Anyways the only team I don't wanna face is Philly

Seems like it will be very unlikely to see Pleks tonight.

I guess it may be the system we have in place in the AHL and NHL that allows us to win. Everyone is just an interchangable part to the machine!
