Great to see Wick back up and Hale while not the sexy call up, I found that he played well back in Oct or Nov when he was called up. He was a +3 I think.

I don't understand. We know Hale and what he brings. Why not give a Wiercioch or Gryba a small taste of the NHL and get an idea of where they're at?

I think Weircioch is supposed to get a game by the end of the year, don't know about Gryba but I don't see why not. But ya kinda seems pointless to just bring Hale up...but perhaps it's just seen a classy move to give the best players (even if they're basically AHL lifers) some exposure, some bonus money, etc.

is it because the trade deadline has passed that Hale can come up or is it emergency recall? I thought he had to pass waivers

Good to see Wick called up. I think he is more NHL ready than OŽBrien.

I haven't really been impressed with O'Brien, he just kinda seems.... there. Haven't noticed him at all in any of his games, others have shown a lot more.

I would agree with this ... good move by the organization to thank him for what he has done for them. It's quite likely that either he or Benoit won't be resigned.

Is Hale signed for next year? That would be my only guess, trying to get him to re-sign.

I think the Sens can only recall players on an emergency basis now, but I'm not totally positive about that.

Somebody with more CBA knowledge could chime in?

I think Murray said on the fan forum that Wiercioch will be called up for atleast a game before the season ends

I dunno. We only have 6 actual NHL forwards on the team right now. The rest are AHL/NHL 2-way contract guys.

NHL
Shannon
Spezza
Svatos
Neil
Winchester
Foligno

AHL (guys who have been getting the call-ups)
Butler
Condra
Greening
Lessard
Smith
O'Brien
Wick
Potulny

It really doesn't make sense Ski, he isn't going to be in Ottawa next year so there really isn't a big decision to make.

He needs time to adjust to new line mates and the pace of the NHL. If he works hard again this off season he could challenge for a spot next year.
