Flyers diving is out of control

OK, I understand the need for trying to draw a call now and then, but tonight was embarrassing with the flopping. Enough already, play hockey and play hard, and you'll get legit calls.

Why are they even trying to draw penalties?

It's pretty gross. The refs stopped calling legit penalties because of it as well.

Wow. Glad I missed the game tonight. That Giroux play looks shameful.

After watching that gif 300~ times, it look's like Leino gets punched in the balls and then has his skate tangled up. From that angle, at least.

exactly. if you watch the video every movement that leino makes is because of the hit.

and giroux behind the net with 2 minutes left was definitely a trip.

I only saw Briere's and Leino's tonight. Briere's I don't really mind. He was clearly interfered with and the flop wasn't that eggregious. He probably could have stayed up but likely would have been knocked off balance and the puck was long gone by then. Leino's flop is just embarrassing.

It looked more like a tap on the inner thigh to me. These guys wear cups right? There was nothing there to make Leino do all that.

Getting punched in a cup still hurts.

I guess we'd have to ask Leino. Didn't look like there was that much force to me.

Well, a punch doesn't need to look like a titanic right cross from Tyson to hurt.

edit:

That's a blatant dive. What happened to Leino is much murkier.

Yeah I know, but I've worn cups too and it's not like they don't do anything. You have to get hit fairly hard to drop like a sack of potatoes like Leino did. I see the contact with the skate too; Leino's right skate may get caught up with Byfuglien which could have caused the fall. But if nothing else, Leino clearly tried to attract attention by throwing his arms in the air and that makes him look a little suspect to me.

Especially if you manage to pinch one of your balls between your cup and your leg. **** hurts.

The Leino flop was embarrassing but Giroux was legitimately tripped.

Whether he was hit in the balls or not that was a flop. When was the last times your arms shot up in the air when you got hit in the balls?

Yea, a punch to the balls wouldn't cause you to react like that... I hate when players dive, no matter what team it is. :/
